Any feedback on this 32" (likely Chinese) tablet for a Wall-mount Dashboard?
Anyone have any experience with this no-band (likely Chinese) 32" android wall tablet?
I'm looking for a large wall mount display for a planned dashboard. Was about ready to pull the trigger on a Rpi + Viewsonic 27" touchscreen and then I came across this. Some nice benefits to a tablet in terms of size, simplicity of setup, touchscreen integration, etc. but I can find nearly zero reviews on this tablet itself.
Device name as shown above is P-WAL-230-ELC-02. My understanding is that this has no internal battery - which is fine as I had planned on hardwiring anyway.
-I'm not sure it has a camera, which would be a bit of a bummer from the standpoint of being able to have the display turn on and off with motion/presenece etc. but neither did my touchsceen solution...
-Would like to be able to display at least 1-2 video streams from IP cameras on the property. Would be fine with intermittenly updating still images (q 1-2 seconds) in most settings, then ideally click-to-go-live. Assuming it should be able to handle that but if anyone has one of these and can chime in I'd apprecaite it!
Thanks!

I have a 32 inch Xoro MegaPas android tablet with Dakboard and Fully Kiosk - it was pricy but I love it!
I’m looking to switch from Dakboard to a Home Assistant dashboard when I have some spare time.

Android 13, so you're putting a security hole on your wall. This will never get upgraded.
It's going to be slow as... you will be back crying about its video decoding.

So that was a fear of mine as well. Figured there'd be no updates most likely.
Had the thought I could block it from the internet (or whitelist sites only) perhaps given that the dashboard would be local.
I do have concern about the video. Not planning on using it for significant IP cam streaming, but would like to be able to show 1-2 streams on an as needed basis at something resembling reasonable quality.
Would you favor touchscreen + rpi?

CM5 with on board memory and ram. POE carrier board. DIS display that runs on 5v rail.
You're going to max out around a 14in display. You will need to put a media box in the wall to hide everything but you will only need to run a single POE wire to it to power everything.
Why pick a pi? Because it has on board GPIO. Add MM wave, pir, ultrasonic, TOF sensors, real buttons and knobs etc...
Why the smaller display: because paging through targeted dashboards is a better UI than one big thing... Because devices where you are, are better than devices you have to go to. Im in the middle of figuring out my "kitchen counter" dashboard: recipes, grocery lists, Timers, blue tooth temp sensors for things that are cooking, ways to turn the lighting "ON" rather than use just motion sensors (annoying when task lighting flicks off while your doing something close by, but great the rest of the time).
I have a WIP dashboard for by the TV running on an old cell phone for quick access to lighting and so on (in theory good so far but on/off is hard).

Appreciate your thoughts, thanks.
Ideally going to use the screen as a central family calendar as well etc. but I get your opinion re: size. I've seen plenty of other advocate for smaller, "local" dashboards and I get that thought.
Was checking out these monitors - they are cool. I have applications I could use this. Is there one you have experience with/recommend?

I tell people if you're looking for displays for this sort of thing start your shopping at waveshare. Most of the time they are the cheapest and have decent selection (or are hitting all the spots in feature matrixes).
Shop around for price but dont be shocked if you end up back there as well.

Thanks for that input. I’m working on getting my HA started and was debating between an android tablet or SBC w/touchscreen for a wall panel.

HA works locally, so all you need to do is cut the tablet's internet connection. So, it wouldn't be a security issue.
After a year or less, it will definitely be slow and jerky.

overkill and over priced. just did a search to see if this was a thing and found one reviewed [not that brand] and it was 4k and 799. to use on as JUST a display would be a waste of money and looks dumb.
