Rusty Shower frame in Shower

How would I go about removing the rust and repainting this? Very new to home improvement so not a clue but hoping I can tackle this.

Think that ship has sailed along time ago. Time for a replacement door and frame set.

Aww man! Really? Apologies for the questions- what are you referring to about the door? And what makes this irreparable?

I am referring to the damaged frame. Bet if you poke it with a screwdriver, you’d punch a hole in it.

Your safety, and that of your family, is paramount. If the door falls, who would it land on?

There are some things you can cheap out on. This door should not be one of those things.
