Can use a switch timer, or one of those PV switches that detects light like on street lights

  • With an inside switch, you can use a "dusk-to-dawn timer" or "astronomic timer" such as the Intermatic EJ600
  • With a box outside, you can use a "photocontrol" or "photocell" that detects light/dark and switches the load (eg: Intermatic EK4036SD89). Just be sure not to put it in a place where a light shines on it.

Best option just depends on how it's wired now and how easy it is to add the control circuit. If you're running a new cable to the timer/photocell, be sure to use a 3-conductor (eg 14/3) so you get hot, neutral and the switched output coming back.

Side note: I've never used either of those products, just two random ones I found while looking for examples.
