How long would you go without cleaning your body for $10K a day?
- You would still have to go about your normal life, you can’t lock yourself inside all day.
- You cannot take a shower or bath of any kind, this also includes using baby wipes to wipe your yourself.
- You cannot use environmental substitutes such as washing yourself with the rain.
Once you accept this challenge, it starts the next day, and when you quit the money immediately gets transferred to your bank.

What if I normally lock myself inside all day?
Anyway, I’d definitely do a minimum of 10 days, maybe shoot for 15.

u/CranberryDistinct941 9h ago
If the challenge is simply not to shower/bathe, this is Reddit... We can all go for months!
If we are also not allowed to wipe our asses or wash our hands... Not quite so long
17
u/unicornsprinkl3 8h ago
For me it’s brushing teeth. I can go 2 weeks without showering but I won’t go a day without brushing my teeth.

If the challenge begins when I wake in the morning then I will fail this challenge within 15 minutes of rising. No wiping?!
I work in food service. Washing my hands is a thorough and practised routine. Hand-washing is the real world equivalent to scene transitions. "Okay, done slicing cucumbers. On to roasting chicken. But first, a message from our hand wash sink." So that is to abstaining from hand washing and wiping is going to make this a really different level of challenge for me.

Dude you’re making 10k a day, find a different job and then live your life 😭

it also says you dont get any money until the challenge ends so your not making 10k a day

Yeaahhh, that’s fair, and while serving makes some obscenely good money, it’d probably be fairly easy to find a decently paying warehouse job to be a line-working peon for a year where nobody gives a damn about ya and come out a millionaire.

3

Never been in a casino but I assume they already smell like unwashed ass and cigarettes
5
u/Mysterious_Sport_731 8h ago
You’d be correct, but so long as you are chain smoking it covers up the smell of unwashed ass
25
u/jkhabe 9h ago
OP, clarify a couple points?
Can you brush your teeth?
Can you wipe your ass with toilet paper?
If it's "No" on both of those, couple'a days tops, for me. Otherwise, I'm retired, got nowhere I have to be so, I could go long term.
5
u/EffRedditAI 7h ago
OP didn't prohibit it so it's allowed. Similar to the law in the US: if it's not specifically prohibited, then you can legally do it.

u/BarbacueBeef 9h ago
Can I still wipe my ass?
1
1
u/thefuckfacewhisperer 1h ago
I would say yes. It specifically says go without a shower or bath. I read that as you can still wipe your ass, but no wipes for your butthole though. I would rule hand washing as allowable too since washing your hands and washing your body are generally viewed as separate things.
37
u/doomazooma 9h ago
People in this thread are crazy for saying anything under a month, I would literally not clean myself for a year or more
18
u/DrJJStroganoff 8h ago
your ass is gonna get itchy, and burny
11
u/doomazooma 8h ago
And I will have three million dollars!!!1!1!!1
6
u/MajorPaper4169 8h ago
Good point. $3 million is more than enough to buy a new ass afterwards.
2
u/Caecus_Umbra 7h ago
Just be careful you don't settle for a discount or cheap ass. It's not the time to be frugal...
3
5
u/Sylentskye 8h ago
Op said you can’t use baby wipes to wipe yourself- they didn’t say anything about pre-lubing with oil so nothing sticks in the first place…
2
u/DrJJStroganoff 8h ago
I mean... I do rub my ass with baby oil on a daily basis already... but for different reasons
2
13
u/Melodic-Vast499 8h ago
Serious health effects. Face infected eyes painful all the time. Everything is so dirty like your face, and so itchy. Whole body is itchy. It’s not the smell that’s the problem. It’s the fungal infections in your groin and on other parts of your body. You would be so sick and in pain before a year.
→ More replies (3)3
u/RoyalSpecialist1777 7h ago
It's a little embarrassing but I often go a couple weeks. I have depression and avoidance issues. Your skin actually adapts and other than smell and a minor itch I could go months for that money. I don't socialize as it is..
→ More replies (3)•
u/kit0000033 12m ago
Without washing, your skin cells start to build up, because you haven't been removing them... Build up too much and you risk infection... After about thirty days there's a visible layer of dead skin cells on you.... You won't make it to a year.
16
u/MrStewStew 8h ago
Whether or not I’m allowed to wipe my ass is the deciding factor here. If I can’t, god maybe a day or two. If I can, I’ll go until my significant other says I need to shower or she’s leaving me.

u/BodAlmighty 9h ago
I live in Manchester, UK, it's famous for its rain... That's day to day life... I'd say the same thing if I was in Seattle.
2
u/Repsa666 8h ago
Yeah I was going to say something similar. I’m Australian and live 15mins from beach and surf. That’s my day to day.
3
3
u/falknorRockman 8h ago
Sure I take this and then jump in a pool every couple of days to atleast wash off the grime a bit. I would probably go a year or two for 3-6 mil.
3
u/Sad_Estate36 8h ago
I am currently unemployed and dont get out much so easily weeks I would definitely shoot for 20 or 30 days thats a pretty decent house in a much better neighborhood.
3
u/rodimus147 8h ago
If i can quit my job and live a normal life and still get the money id try to go 6 months.
If i cant quit my job id probably be able to go 2 weeks before it became a huge problem.
3
u/Fun_Variation_7077 8h ago
Long enough to outright buy a house in Pittsburgh and a brand new Honda Civic. So 20-25 days, give or take.
7
2
u/ChildSupport202 9h ago
I’ll just quit my job, go out on walks every once in a while since I “can’t lock myself inside all day” and be dirty for at least one year.
2
2
u/BlumpkinDude 9h ago
Can I wash my hands still? Can I just splash water on my face without soap?
4
u/OverzealousCactus 8h ago
Yeah I feel like these should be allowed if the intent is to "not bathe or shower", these are usual things people do even on days they don't shower.
2
u/BlumpkinDude 8h ago
Yeah. Washing your hands is basic health and being sanitary so you don't get sick. If I'm going to get paid 10k a day not to bathe, I'm just going to stay at home and not do anything that I would need to bathe myself for. I could probably do that for at least a month, maybe 2 if I fell into a good routine. Would using exfoliating masks be considered bathing?
2
u/FadingHeaven 8h ago
I can't wash myself in the rain, but does that mean I can't go in the rain at all? Can I go swimming even if I don't actually scrub myself?
2

2
u/DrJJStroganoff 8h ago
Great, can't wait until I get fired for poor hygiene so I can lock myself away and stack cash
2
u/sincerevibesonly 8h ago
10k is big, maybe 2 weeks to a month? I'm conscious of my own hygiene, theres only so much deodorant and perfumes can save my ass
2
u/manicuredcrucifixion 8h ago
Uhhh like a week would be a ton? That’s all my debt and like. Years of rent. I’ll be visiting my bf a lot
2
u/ravens-n-roses 8h ago
If I can choose to do this during the cold part of winter, probably a month? Like, don't get me wrong I'm not having fun, but 300k would like... literally change my life for at least the next decade. If it's winter I can minimize how gross I get by minimizing my active hours, and how warm i get. If I'm not actively sweating all the time, then I'm probably going to avoid being truly ripe till after the first week as opposed to the first couple days.
2
u/blzr0197 8h ago
Hah! I already stay home normally. I care for my ma and am autistic. So me forgetting to take shower is a given. Only other one of using water is me doing dishes
2
u/mrchowmein 8h ago
For $10k a day? I work from home, so I’ll just sit in ac and wear breathable pouched boxer briefs. It will keep the goods separated and dry. I have a bidet so my bottom will be clean. I’m not bathing or showering or wiping my body with wipes. I prob can do this for a year
2
u/PhillipTopicall 8h ago
Can you brush your teeth or would I need to go long enough to replace them?

Finally a tough one. I shower or bathe between one and three times a day (bit of a germophobe,) so going any length of time would be hell to me. On the plus side I do work from home and can be stubborn if I have a goal in mind, so I might be able to go long enough to pay off any current debt; so I might be able to pull off two weeks if I'm given the chance to prep with a low residue diet.

How about going swimming everyday?
Sure I'd smell like chlorine but I'd be swimming in that $$$$

u/Inside-Pen-301 8h ago
Kind of a lame scenario since we all have to go through with our normal everyday lives. Those who have to work at an office in person or are dating someone are at a severe disadvantage to those who work from home, who are unemployed, or are single.

If I normally jump in the river as part of my day, am I still allowed too? If yes I guess I could go a year at least, if not I think I'd lose my job after a week. (4 years ago the company revoked a rule that everyone must shower before leaving work)
1
u/ExaminationNo9186 8h ago
Probably for the same length of time for the questions that asked this but offered $20K, and the ones that offered $30, and the ones that offered $40k, the same for the ones that offered $50k.....

Answer varies wildly based on whether I can brush my teeth, but my guess would be no

1
u/lemmerip 8h ago
At some point you lose your job and relationships which means you can stay inside and just keep going.
I’d shoot for a cool million and never work a day again
1
u/Eniolas 8h ago
I work in a steel shop, it smells like sweaty ass year around. I could probably get 7 days without anyone noticing, especially if I time it right, I work 4 10's which means I have consistent 3 day weekends, means I wouldn't deviate at all from my shut in lifestyle, might go for an 8th day depending on how I feel.
1
1
u/Major-Significance 8h ago
If I use all my vacations and personal holidays at work I could manage about 35 days off. Then my normal life would be locked inside my house with 2 dogs that will only love me more the worse I smell 😁

u/Proteolitic 8h ago
After the COVID lockdown my depression hit hard. ☹️
I went six months without cleaning (only washed my armpits and used a long term deodorant also made shure to maintain clean my genitals, wasn't interested in a UTI)🤢.
So, were do I sign? And prepare that juicy check.
(10K * 180 = $ 1800000 come to papa 🤣🤣🤣)

u/the-willow-witch 8h ago
God going 2 days would be hard for me, I have ocd but.. 10k a day is a LOT if you let it stack up! But I can’t even wipe my face? I like…. Haaaaate the feeling of grease on my face, I use make up wipes 2-3 times a day even though I don’t wear makeup lol.
I think if I started on a Thursday I could go 4 days. I don’t think I’d be able to do more than that.

$10K/day? A long time: I can not work (substitute teacher), have money saved up, don't have to go anywhere or interact with others, can get groceries delivered, etc. So I can go until I can't stand my own stench anymore.
Also: I still have my sprinklers running every day, so I can just stand out there for a little stink assistance each morning. So: not a shower or bath, and not rain, either, I'm still within your rules.

u/Lengurathmir 7h ago
Does swimming count as an environmental substitute I’m just trying to exercise here hahaha
1
u/drapehsnormak 7h ago
A couple things:
I work a rotating 12 hour schedule that gives me a week off straight every 28 days and honestly don't leave the house much during that timeframe, so I could pretty easily get 70k with only some inconvenience.
Also, you never said I couldn't tell anyone about this. What's to stop them from getting ahold of me and hosing me off with a garden hose? I'm not choosing to bathe.
1
u/Wobbly5ausage 7h ago
So am I not allowed to swimming or what? Does that count as environmental cleaning OP?
And does cleaning your body include brushing teeth?

u/Kemya-Magnus 7h ago edited 7h ago
6 days. I would accept the challenge on a Monday, shower just before midnight.
Tuesday I am still pretty clean and I can go to work, wednesday I think I can stretch it without people at work noticing. At this point I am getting likely a bit too smelly to be around people. I'd try to apply for work from home for Thursday and Friday. If I am denied, I will take sick leave (up to 2 days they won't ask me a medical certificate). Saturday and Sunday are weekend days and I can just isolate or walk in a park. All activities for the week, aside from work, will be low-movement to reduce sweating. My partner would be informed in advance of the challenge.
On the following Monday I will shower very early (and for very long) and go back to work 60k richer
Wait.. is toilet paper considered cleaning oneself?
1
u/IndividualSlip2275 7h ago
I don’t think anyone considers swimming to be bathing. So I’ll just jump in my neighbors pool daily. I’ll smell like chlorine all the time, but in a year, I’ll be ready to retire.

damn, I'd be stinky, but I'd keep going to work until i stank too much to be around people. Then maybe take a few weeks off PTO so I didn't gross everyone else out.

"No environmental substitutes like washing in the rain".
How about if you are a keen swimmer?
I'm not going to give up my sports activities, but would this count as washing if my primary reason was fitness? The fact that I would be cleaner when I get out is incidental, and arguably if it was a pool with chlorinated water then not showering in fresh water could be detrimental.
So if swimming is allowed, then I could possibly do this challenge for quite a long time!

Indefinitely. So I'd need to be paid regularly to survive, not at the end. There's a bacteria that is safe i can use to keep me clean from my own stuff. No BO, or other stuff like that. If I get soiled I can scrub with sand. I'll be doing it anyway because of my skin that desperately needs regular exfoliation.
1
u/cryptowatching 5h ago
Okay like, 10k a day is an absurd amount of money. I could go along my days, and eventually I’m going to be asked to leave work, eventually be fired, and then I can just stay home. I’ll run my errands and just not give a fuck because at the end of the day I get 10 grand. It will be gross, but the prize is worth it.
1
u/Dimirosch 5h ago
Years!
Thing is the rules are that I can't take a shower or bath or use baby wipes and I'm willing to include any form of washing myself. Key here is cleaning myself!
If I know I get 3.65 million a year I would surely be able to convince my wife, mother, heck even a stranger to wash me every other day and either share when I'm getting paid or pay per wash.
Sure it's tedious but doable for 3+ years and with 10+ millions I can retire early.

Tomorrow is a wfh day and I literally just got out the shower so I’m going to put on some of that insane 72 hour deodorant so I’m good for a day or two before this starts. I’m in the office Wednesday but after that I’m WFH until Next Thursday… so it really depends… I honestly suspect next Thursday morning is the first day I have to shower, it’s an important meeting and I can’t remote it without repurcussions… but also… let’s say I faulter on it… after that I have another week at home… let’s say I falter on the following meeting too… at this point I’m in the firing line for bad things unless I can get a serious doctors note… if I can then it’s probably minimum sept 18 before I have a really important divisional meeting…. That I CANT escape BUT!!!! I probably at worst get a talking to for not attending… we’re talking 10K per day… so a talking to is not that bad…. We’re already up to 180k… I’m still being paid by my job at this point… so let’s say I keep bailing it’s maybe end of September before I get sacked… so that’s when the timer really starts… I also have savings though… maybe 6 months worth… can I hide away for that long? Oof that’s a long shot but I could definitely hide away until around Christmas time. That’s the. I have to start seeing family… so I could probably do 100 ish days… at the end of it I’m jobless but I have $1m…
1
u/SouthTippBass 2h ago
The person this would really effect would be my partner, so it depends on her tolerance to the stink. And if it was taking home 10k a day, I'd say we could stretch it pretty far. A couple of months maybe? Get us completely out of debt, update the house a load and squirrel a nest egg. I'd say we could pull a few months out of it.

Embarrassingly, during the lockdowns I once went 29 days without showering because I was all kinds of isolated and depressed. And that was for no money at all. I think I could do 65 days for this kind of money

A similar post was posted last week. I swim pretty much daily, so I’m at least getting the opportunity to get into water regularly. But this becomes more of a problem if you can’t brush your teeth regularly, it would require a significant change in diet.
But to answer the question, I would go as long as I can go. There is no downside. A week is $70k, two weeks $140k, etc. You can’t make life changing money within 90 days, but you wouldn’t be free of working unless you made it past 200 days.

Unfair as I have the same ABCC11 gene as most Japanese/Korean people do.

I could pay someone to wash me, as the rules started that I cannot clean myself.

Well I’m on paternity leave for a couple of months, so at least 30+ days 😅 my wife wouldn’t mind if I told the reason

I'd probably go a year and be set for life. I'm sure work would fire me at some point. My friends would stop coming over on weekends. How would that affect must keep up normal activities? If I'm willing but others aren't?

My normal everyday life includes swimming for exercise twice a week. So, I think going a year is extremely possible.

Most important can I clean my hands and my privates after going to the bathroom.
Next is can I wash my face.
If all of the above is fine then I'd maybe do it a week (maybe I could manage 2 weeks but not sure how much longer I could stretch it) as I work from home and rarely go out so I stay pretty clean as is.

With current schedule I could probably make it a week easy. The real winners in here are anyone working as a lifeguard. It’s not tech an environmental substitute if it’s part of your job.

You would still have to go about your normal life, you can’t lock yourself inside all day.
LOL. You clearly overestimate how often I need to leave the house.
It's not at all uncommon for me to go a week between leaving my own property or seeing anyone other than my partner. And if I'm making $70k/week by not cleaning myself I'm sure she'd be willing to do our weekly grocery pickup herself so I can keep the streak going.
Eventually it's going to create health issues, but I'd be happy going until it does. I think I could make it at least a month. In all likelihood I wouldn't need to see anyone other than my partner during that span.

Accept for 1 year. My SO would gladly take over my hygienic needs for that kind of payout.

I'm disabled, on bad months I've gone 30 days without washing... Definitely taking this.

Wasn't this already posted a few days ago? I could go 10 days at least.
