You are approached by a business man who offers you a one time offer to be put in a Skinner box for a year.

You will receive either $1000 a week or the amount of money you’re currently making per week, whichever is more.

But for 365 days you are kept in a literal Skinner box.

And what you are conditioned to do is entirely up to you at the beginning.

Learn a skill, become fit, write a book, learn a musical instrument, whatever.

It’s 100% up to you.

They will provide whatever resources you need to accomplish your goals, and will hire whoever you need to make sure you succeed.

When you go in that box, they will control your diet, your routines, and anything else they need to do to make sure you accomplish it.

You are given whatever rewards and punishments that are necessary but never cause any permanent harm.

And you may not opt out until the task is complete or the year is up.

This does not necessarily mean solitary confinement, as interactions with others could be one of your rewards.

What do you do it?

META Better compensation, please.

Just had a friend who went fully paralyzed after trying to experience his childhood 10,000 times, all for just 10 million. That's less than 67 dollars per year of life and too much knowledge and information for a human brain. Another friend thought getting immortality for 1 million was the best deal of his life, until he spent 2 months trying to get to the Mariana Trench with 250 dollars because he didn't know the snail was THAT intelligent. Especially after he spent 900k on building a decent security system in place. We thankfully got an RV for the poor lot, but we haven't heard from him ever since.

For the love of money, worker's rights, and sanity, please have better compensation for these scenarios. Inflation should not be this bad that even hypothetical compensation gets affected by it.

In exchange for 1 year of your lifespan, you can choose 3 animal species to be your loyal subordinates. Which 3 animal species do you choose?

  1. You can choose three animal species to be your subordinates permanently, in exchange for a year of your lifespan.
  2. The moment you choose, all members of the 3 species gain human-level intelligence and immediately acknowledge you as their master and friend.
  3. For example, if you choose a pigeon, all pigeons everywhere become your subordinates. You can choose 3 species.
  4. The animals you choose gain the ability to understand your language, and you gain the ability to understand theirs. You can speak to them, and they become able to speak to you.
  5. You cannot understand any other animals, only the 3 species of animals you choose.
  6. You can summon any number of them instantly, whenever, wherever you are.
  7. You do not create the animals. You summon existing ones from their habitats on earth to your side.
  8. These animals will be fiercely loyal to you and will follow your orders without hesitation.
  9. If you don't summon any, they continue to live in their habitats as they've always done, hoping they get to meet you one day. When you summon them, they teleport to your side immediately. You may keep as many of them you want with you for as long as you want. When you dismiss them, they teleport back to wherever they came from.
  10. These animals do not have magic. They still need to eat, drink and be suitable to live in the climate of your hometown in order to survive.
  11. For example, if you live in a desert and decide to keep a polar bear with you, chances are it will eventually die because it's not built to survive there. Please use your brain to determine which animals you can afford to keep with you. You'll still need to feed them and look after them.

Which 3 species do you choose? How do you use them? What are some creative ways to get the most out of this power?

You are forced to start your life over from age 5, and the catch is this. You must be a high level pro athlete.

If you do not, you are sent to a hell like dimension after death for eternity.

Here are the details. You will be given a completely healthy but otherwise average body for whatever sex/gender you choose to be. But staying injury free at that point is on you. No illness or issues your body if you had any before. And your body is now completely average. Height, weight, ECT... So no huge downside but no help there. (maybe you can add a few inches up or down above average... but keep it within 1-2 of average. No being 7 feet and joining the NBA as a cheat code.

To be considered a success you must either win an Olympic medal. Make a pro team at the highest level for at least 1 year total. If an individual sport, you must finish top 10 in your weight class or sport at least once at the highest level (it can be less in a more competitive sport... but you need to be good enough to be clearly a good pro who can make a good living).

It must be a sport that is reasonably well known AKA, not made up and one you can make a living wage at and sponsorships I suppose can count.

What is your plan?

Edit: To be clear... what constitutes high level i want to leave a little vague. But i want it to be more than just being a pro. For instant getting a boxing license and being a pro boxer doing 4 rounders shouldn't count.

You are visited by officers of a certain agency. They have developed an interest in a friend of yours.

This friend happens to be the closest person to you in the world, outside your loved one and your children, if you have them. You have been close since your early childhood. You have always trusted each other.

The officers refuse to be explicit about why they have an interest in your friend - but, from the agency involved, and your knowledge of your friend's professional life, your surmise is that your friend is suspected of selling secrets vital to national security.

Your friend is coming to your home at 6 in the evening tomorrow. That's why the officers have called. They want you to keep your friend at your house, using any pretext you can, until 11. If you do so, they suggest some sort of reward will be coming your way. If not, then they suggest they will open investigations into you.

You refuse to give an answer straight away, but, under pressure, say that you will give an answer in a few hours. In the interim, you happen to meet your friend, casually. (This usually happens in the normal course of events.) You spend half an hour chatting; but you rapidly realise that, in this conversation, your friend is making use of a specific code the two of you worked out when you were much younger.

The message your friend passes to you, by means of the code, is as follows: "Don't worry. I know what you have been asked to do. If you do as they say, I'm going to prison. But, if you only keep me until 9, they won't be able to reach me. They might be angry, but they won't be able to prosecute you. And, if you go to country X, there will be £2.5 million [or local equivalent] waiting for you." (Country X has no extradition treaty with your home country.)

What do you choose to do?

Super speed (sprinting something like 100m in 5s, running a 40 minute marathon) BUT you get a deviated septum that lowers your oxygenation and can’t be reversed. You’ll be very tired doing any exercise for any length of time, and unless you do suffer through it you’ll loose your fitness and likely end up less fit than you are now. Let’s assume there’s no fame or fortune to be gained from winning races etc.

Every calorie you consume extends your life by a 10 seconds; every calorie you burn earns you a dollar….

But at the end of a 24-hour period, you must choose between the two and the choice not selected results in a NEGATIVE balance for the option not selected.

So, for example, you consume 2400 calories but burn 1200. You select consumption and earn 6.6 hours of additional lifespan but $1,200 is deducted from your bank account.

What’s your strategy?

EDIT: u/greenmachine1235 makes a good point, so closing the loophole - EDIBLE calories only.

Realized you can’t edit to close loopholes.

You get £20/$30 an Hour for Playing a video game of your choosing for a month, each month you can choose wether or not to continue for another month, but if you die you lose it all

- If you quit the game you go back to reality with no money

- It has to be an active game (no sitting around waiting your turn, if its turn based you get your average wait time to use your turn based on the game, if its civ for example you get 90 seconds)

- You do not get paid for being idle, only for being active

- Any attempts to defraud the challenge is an instant fail, time resumes and you return with nothing

What do you do and what game do you choose?

EDIT: If its a game like Rimworld or Project Zomboid, you get an additional 4.5%APR on the balance based on how long you survive

You restart your life from the very beginning.

You restart your life from the very beginning and you’ll have memories from “this life” (you’ll remember what you can).

In addition to that, you can have three wishes/requests, you can use all of them before you restart your life. And these requests could be anything for example you can ask to be more charismatic or really good at flirting, you can ask for a book with all the lottery winnings for rest of your life (kinda predictable and boring, no shade), you can even request to have a superpower like reading minds, etc etc

What would be your three wishes/requests?

You're going on vacation

You were planning on taking your immediate family on an annual vacation, but you wanted to also take a close friend, Emma. Emma's a winged angel and has served in the Angel Corps for over 200 years. She was born into servitude with death being the only escape. Emma rose to legendary status, but still witnessed the horrors of war over and over again. She lost countless of her sisters in war—discovering many of their bodies herself and piecing together the horrors they suffered at the hands of sadistic demons.

But recently, Emma was freed from service when the Angel Corps became a volunteer organization. She immediately retired. She found herself stuck, though. Life as a public servant is all she's ever known. Slowly but surely, she's been adjusting to civilian life. You think this vacation would be perfect for her, and she agrees to go with you. There's a problem, though. Emma can't can't fit in the car.

She can definitely get in there, but her wings make it impossible for her to put her back against a seat. All things considered, her wings aren't very large—going from her jaw to her lower pelvis. This is also why she can't fly. With some trial and error, she's able to fit somewhat comfortably in the middle of the back seats. She can't fasten her seatbelt and no one can sit beside her, but she's in the car.

Emma doesn't mind the discomfort and still wants to go, but she doesn't want to be a burden. She agrees to stay behind if it's too much trouble. You'll have to make a choice. You can bring Emma and one other guest, or you can leave her behind and go with your family as originally intended.

*What do you do?*

Money You’re playing a game of chess and are in a position where you can take your opponents queen for free, and your opponent tells you that they will give you $1,000,000,000 if you don’t take their queen and that they will release a bioweapon on the world if you take their queen

For those who don’t know how to play chess, your queen is generally your most powerful piece, and in most cases it’s advantageous if you have your queen and your opponent doesn’t. There are exceptions to this, but in this scenario you’re not in an exception to this, in terms of the game, as you can take their queen for free, and while you can’t yet see a sequence of moves that leads to checkmating your opponent you will most likely win soon after if you take your opponents queen.

Your opponent tells you that if you don’t take their queen then after the game they will give you $1,000,000,000, and they tell you that they have a bio weapon and if you take their queen then they will release the bio weapon upon the world and this bio weapon will completely wipe out humanity. If you try asking your opponent why you should believe them they say, “Trust me bro.”

Do you take your opponents queen because their claim seems unbelievable or not take it because you don’t want to risk having the bio weapon released and are hoping that they honor their promise of giving you the $1,000,000,000?

Live in your favorite TV show for one season

The Wizard appears and offers you a gift. You get to live in a television show of your choice for one full season of the show. While you are living in the show, time in the real world will stop for you. At the end of the season, you can opt to live in the TV show's world permanently or come back to reality.

While in the show, you will not be one of the main characters, but you can interact with them. Anyone watching the show in real life later on, however, will not recognize you being in the show.

You cannot take anything with you into the show, and you cannot bring anything back with you.

Do you take the deal? If so, what show would you pick and what season?

Which cereal mascot would win a Battle royale?

Firstly some basic stuff

1- the basic structure and rules of this battle royale is the same of a ordinary season of the Hunger Games.

2- no Sunny from Raisin Bran, The guy's the friggin SUN!, so he will only watch the bloodbath.

3- everyone has the powers seen on their Commercials + guns so the unpowered characters will have a chance.

4- only Characters from currently existing cereals in the market btw.

Who is goin' to win?

Money You are given the opportunity to make $3 million but you must give a loved one the most embarrassing day of their life

The person must be someone you truly care about and are close to, You will be given all supplies or assistance needed to embarrass this person.

You cannot share the money with them nor do something simple like take candy from a baby the person must be of adult age and cannot consent or informed ahead of time.

This must all take place in a very public environment where everyone WILL laugh at them after the act, lastly they will know that you did this, who are you picking and what’s your method?

You are contacted by a tv producer to participate as a contestant in a new reality tv show known as Winter Hunt, what would be your strategy to win the show?

In this reality show, you and other 15 contestants will compete and live in a snowy envviromment for 38 days in order to gain a initial $500k money prize (that will get bigger as the game goes)

How the game works:

You will live inside a warm and comfortable cabin, ideal for strategizing and resting, but every week you and your colleagues will go out into the harsh cold to hunt for suitcases filled with money that are hidden in under the snow, the money you find will be added to the big prize, If the cast manage to get all suitcases the prize If $500k turns into a big prize of 1,5 million dollars.

Every two weeks there will be a challenge that tests your physique , mind and general endurance to gain a power in the game - immunity which you can give to yourself or another player, after this challenge the participants will vote on one of them to eliminate and go back home early but there's also another risk...a eliminated participant can choose to take the money they found with them while hunting, decreasing the prize to their non-eliminated contestants

EDIT: I forgot to add what will happen in the final.

Like in Survivor, you will get judged by a jury made out of other eliminated players who will vote among the finalists.

Now, what would you do?

Pick one magical servant

First, all of these servants are, as long as you follow the "rules", happy to work for you. Unless you make them unhappy/upset, they will continue to work for you for the rest of your life.

Unless otherwise stated, they have a magic realm they can retreat to at any time, where they will spend most of their off hours.

They are also nigh unto indestructible, though intentionally testing that will make them unhappy.

  1. Maid of All Work.

She can clean/tidy pretty much anything that a normal human could clean, and will do so as long as you give her a list, the appropriate supplies, and a nice little snack (proportional to the length of the list).

But she is impossibly shy. She will not work if anyone else is around, and if you in any way try to spy on her, she will get unhappy, and depending on the severity, leave. (Eg accidentally leave a webcam on, she'll refuse to work for a few days. Deliberately set up a nanny cam, she's gone) (You will never actually succeed in spying on her, but she will get very annoyed if you try). If she needs to communicate with you, it will be through notes.

She will also get upset if you expect too much of her, especially if you don't leave her a good long time to work. It's fine to leave an "if you can get to it" list of any length, but if you ask her to do 3 hours of work when you will only be gone for an hour, she gets cranky. She doesn't like having to leave a job half done.

  1. Mr. Fixit.

He can mend or repair any inanimate object (and sometimes plants) roughly as well as any trained human. Same rules as the Maid as far as the list, supplies, and snacks. Also, as far as the too much work.

But, unlike the Maid, he hates being alone. He will usually not work unless someone else is at least within easy earshot. About the only exception is if he needs something that you didn't supply, so you go quickly to the appropriate store to buy it.

He looks like a grumpy little bearded man in stained overalls. He's always mumbling under his breath what sounds like it might be curse words, and will occasionally more audibly voice insults about "whatever idiot" designed or broke whatever he is currently repairing.

  1. Octochef.

She appears to be a large octopus in a chef's hat. You can summon her by ringing a little bell in your kitchen, you can bring the bell to other (private) kitchens as well. (She won't do commercial cooking, though you can occasionally convince her to cook for a party you're hosting or whatever)

She can cook or bake food from virtually any cuisine. You need to supply the bulk of the ingredients and basic supplies and equipment, but she can magic up any spices or specialty pans or so forth that you don't happen to have on hand.

She needs the usual amount of time to cook the food, but is very efficient about chopping vegetables and such (8 arms...)

Unless they have an allergy or something, she will get upset if any adult or older child does not at least try something she has made for them. She will also get upset if you take a portion and do not at least mostly finish it, barring illness or something like that.

She will clean up the kitchen, at least of the actual cooking debris, after she is done, but it will all be slightly damp and covered in sucker prints.

She will not cook any sort of cephalopod.

  1. Buddy.

He looks like a capuchin monkey (he can speak, however). He is the ultimate companion, especially for children. He will patiently play any game with them/you, read stories, give hugs, and in general just...hang out with them/you. He doesn't need food or anything, but he does need a certain amount of physical attention/contact.

The anchor for his private realm appears to be a small cage, but he will normally only go there if no one is around, and he will get unhappy if he spends too much time there. He gets the concept of travel, however, and will retreat for the duration of a plane ride or whatever if it means he can come along.

He will appropriately supervise young children, potentially including things like diaper changes, but he prefers to be a companion more than a disciplinarian.

So, who will it be? Do you have any other ideas for similar magical servants to add to the list? Any other thoughts?

How do you choose to die?

One morning, a figure appears in your bedroom with a shocking offer. There are two options in this offer.

You could choose to die peacefully and painlessly at midnight (giving you one last day to live.)

OR

You could choose to postpone your death by 1 year (only issue with this option being that the death will be long, excruciatingly painful, and you have no idea what type of death it will be.)

Once you choose what to do, it cannot be undone. And if you pick option 2, you cannot commit suicide to get out of it.

What do you choose to do and why?
