I’ve got my first iPod classic 7gen with 256GB memory and new battery recently. I… just love it. Also I’m ditching Spotify and planning to mod a ipod mini very soon. It feels good

I’m happy to announce I’ve officially launched the WyMod AeroStream! A new one of a kind device built from the ground up to upgrade the way you interact with your iPod. So what is it?
The WyMod AeroStream converts 30 pin to USB-C for charging and data transfer. It also will FireWire charge your supported device with the flick of a switch! The AeroStream also sports a dedicated Line Out port that is connected directly to the dock port, which bypasses the headphone amp and gives you a less muttled sound, perfect for listening either with IEMs or attaching an external amp. The WyMod AeroStream includes built in Bluetooth functionality, which easily lets you connect to modern day speakers! To also add to this, you get an on-board volume dial to adjust the line out or BT sound directly from the adapter!
You can check it out and more of our products at: https://wymodlabs.com
The WyMod AeroStream powers itself directly from the iPod, so there’s no need to keep it charged. However, if you did want to attach a battery, that is completely possible.
I want to thank the community so much for your support! I can’t believe I can say some of our items have made it to EOE, only to sell out within the first couple of weeks! Expect more, as we still have many projects in the pipeline! If you want to be in our awesome community, feel free to join our discord: https://discord.gg/DhHvfqDDFU

Hi, I have this ipod touch 4th gen 8gb, never used in its box. Is it worth anything? The seal is open unfortunately. But the rest is untouched
Thought the community might find this helpful! These pics illustrate how much brighter and warmer the 5.5 is compared to the 5. The album art in the final 2 pics shows the warmth differences. While it's clear the 5.5 is "better", I think I actually prefer the 5, the brightness is easier on the eyes and feels more familiar and nostalgic to me (probably because I had a 5 as my daily carry for many years in early-mid aughts, and it was my longest lasting ipod before i switched to streaming). Finally switching back after a decade though, and wanted to give back to the community after all the help I've found here. This 5.5 is new to me, while the 5 is my oldie but goodie that I finally got around to restoring!

Here is what consistently works for me
Parts list:
Steps
P.S. Thank you u/Wizzard_of_Hazz for making these iPods so easy to live with. The WyMod firewire adapter takes all of the inconvenience out of the equation
Now you just need to do the firewire dance. As in...Charge the iPod, sync 1500 songs. Battery dies, charge with firewire, sync another 1500 songs, on and on until you fill it up! No way I'm paying $100 for one of those firewire + usb combo cables
Enjoy!

5.5 edition iPod classic 80 gb, no internal mods yet but got rockbox installed and a majority of my collection (mostly FLAC files, some WAV and a handful of MP3S) loaded up!

I recently upgraded my 80 GB iPod with a new battery, 256 GB flash and haptic engine. I also replaced my screen, which ahd many dead pixels. I never really stopped using my iPod, but renewing it was so awesome and made me way happier and eager to listen to new music. It is again my favorite thing.
I've been looking for ways to control the scratches in the front plate and came out with this idea of cutting an adhesive vynil with a cricut. I kinda like the looks, but soon I'll try to cut an hydrogel to iPod size and try that. Has anyone done that?

I made a post not too long ago asking you guys what iPod I should get and thank you all for your recommendations 🫂🫶🏼!!! I decided to get a non modded 5th gen in 30gb ! What I didn't know is that the 30gb can't handle more SD space then a 80gb and so on which is okay since I think 128 GB will be plenty ! I think these have less ram too , but it's perfect! Its a Japanese region model and it has a screen protector on it since new ! Can't wait to upgrade the battery and space ! And then get all my CDs on it !
Anyone know good websites to get the SD flash and battery replacements ?? Thank you all again for your help 🙂↕️🙂↕️
Hey Community, I am currently trying to repair a 7th gen pcb but couldnt find schematics or parts lists. I bought a schematic from dr-bios.com but recieved only the plans for the first iphone prototype m68. Is there anyone here who has access to the plans or might know where to find them? If these plans would be publicly available the mods would get crazy.

Got myself one of these machine milled iPod housing. Sure it’s pricey but I’m in love with the brass. Anyone here bought one as well?
Found this at a thrift store for $45. I’ve already got some plans for some common mods like a battery swap, converting it to SSD, adding Bluetooth, and changing the color (debating turning it clear, yellow, or purple) and possibly finding a case for it that I can attach an AirTag to so it can have the find my feature like the rest of my tech. So far it’s been a fun project downloading all my music to it, I fully get why people love these things now

I really enjoy it every night with my headphones, and during the day with my family. Very spacious, detailed — everything on the iPod is in FLAC, ALAC, 44.1/16. Mostly vinyl rips. The iPod is modded: it’s a 5.5 in a 7th-gen housing, with 1TB of storage and a 3000 mAh battery. I use Shanling HW-600 headphones, JBL ES-30 speakers (bi-amped, with the front channels doubled by a pair of Klipsch Quintet, positioned on the wall but angled outward and near the ceiling to also expand the soundstage and stereo image, adding more detail to the highs), a Vali 2++ with a 396A NOS 1972 tube, a Loki Mini+ and a Modi Multibit 2, amplified through a Yamaha RX-V1700 receiver in Pure Direct mode, with a Yamaha YST-SW215 subwoofer to give the lows more body. For digital output, I use an Onkyo ND-S10 to send the pure signal from the iPod to the Modi Multibit 2. For my portable setup, I use the iPod with a JDS Labs CmoyBB 2.03v amplifier inside an Altoids tin.

I wanted to know if there are any advantages or disadvantages, or if it's the same thing as iTunes.

I’ve been searching for cases for the 6th gen fat iPod for months now and it appears to be a literal impossibility to track a reliable and cheap source of cases for fat iPods. I just want one, single case. Not a pack of 3 like i have been seeing on ebay.
Gonna get to the point where i start looking for good 3d printing files for a case made from transparent resin.
If you know of some good files then throw them in the comments. Seen a few out there but nothing definitive for the fat iPod.
Please help.

They suddenly appeared and I suspect it's the beginning of the battery swelling. They look like finger print markings but I assure you I have this little baby inside cotton wool and never pressed hard on the screen.
After reviving my IPod Video/Nano and seeing lots of posts about IEMs I bought two IEMs to have a better sound than with the stock Apple earpods.
I have the 7hz x crinical salnotes zero and the QKZ x HBB both have static noise when plugged into the IPods.
Asking Chatgpt: it's an Impedance mismatch paired with a high sensitivity of the IEMs.
I saw posts with (the same) IEMs so I'm wondering what you guys to to fix this?
r/ipod • u/szajbusi_k • 4h ago
Normally with it I use Bluetooth headphones, but, as that drains the battery like crazy, I wanted to buy some cheap iems to enjoy listening to music with better battery life. But, as I wanted to get them today, I tried plugging it into my Stereo via Jack, and, there was no sound whatsoever. Tried my other wired headphones, no life. The cable goes all the way in, but still, no sound.
Any help on this?
