Misc. IIL Apocalyptic, zombie, realistic “the world is suddenly fucked” shows/movies/video games

There’s probably a word I’m looking for but can’t find. Examples:

  • The introduction scene to fallout 4 & the overall plot of the vaults from fallout
  • The walking dead
  • The Smile movies
  • The purge (BIG ONE)
  • World war Z
  • The “metro” series (although that’s much more heavily post apocalyptic, i love the more immediate societal collapse stuff)
  • Black Summer
  • 28 days/weeks later (although i am a sucker for the newer more jumpscarey horror)

Open to games, TV shows, or movies!

The last of us of course (game/show), Days Gone (game), The Road by Cormac McCarthy (book), Cloverfield (movie)

I know you didn't ask for books but the road is one of the best pieces of apocalyptic media I've ever read/seen/heard

It has been adapted into a graphic novel by Manu Larcenet, and the result is amazing.

Project Zomboid is my favorite zombie game. Incredibly in depth, steep learning curve too. Only steam game I've ever passed 1000 hours on. Kenshi is nearly there tho lol. Not a zombie game tho

Dysmantle (game).

To a lesser degree, They Are Billions (portrays a more extreme/militaristic future rather than taking place straight after our world gets overrun.)
