Interview Question - Ask to observe an upcoming Career Fair that I would manage if hired

Hello all,

I have an interview tomorrow for an employer partnership position at a University. I also noticed the same day of my interview, there is a internship fair for the school later that day...this is something I would manage if I was hired for the job. I'm curious if it would be seen as proactive or aggressive if I mention this at the end of my interview during my questions..."I noticed you have an internship fair today. I'd love the opportunity to come and silently observe as I think it would be an advantage to learn from the event if I was to be hired for this role."

Not sure if that's crazy or not but there's not any other upcoming events in the calendar and it truly would be helpful to see it - it wouldn't be just for brownie points, but I get how that's not a traditional part of the interview process....Is it weird even to ask?

I would - its very proactive and it makes sense to want to do it. As an employer, I would like that you were interested.

Honestly, it's not weird at all. Expressing genuine interest in observing the event shows initiative and a willingness to learn. Just frame it positively, focusing on your eagerness to understand the role better. Good luck!
