Asking college dates
I found a job post that looked promising, so I spent some time working on my resume, asking for advice from my career coach, even created a cover letter (ugh!). When I went to apply online, the dreaded question came up . . . what your graduation date was with the red asterisk by the question. I was honest - I had to be - and put the date in. Not shocked to see the rejection email come within 12 hours later. Not saying that this was the reason for the rejection, but it seems that I never get interviews when they ask me this question. Do you think that this is a legal way of asking your age? Shouldn't this be removed from the application process? Just frustrated.

i mean, you already know the answer. Of course they're guessing your age and other attributes that may or may not be "allowed".
I'm no spring chicken either so for sure i appreciate the problem

Oh I know the answer - my post was a vent over how frustrating this process is.

I get your frustration. I’ve taken these dates off my LinkedIn and resume. I’m sorry this happened.
