Why do they do this?

Why do hiring managers and hr people say they’ll give you an answer by X day and almost never meet this deadline? It only creates expectations and restlessness.

PS: I’m at the final stage of a super long hiring process and the head of people said I’m a finalist and would give my an answer by Thursday (yesterday) or today… Any advice?

Assume you didn’t get a job and keep looking. If someone tells you something will be done by a certain date, don’t believe them.

But it’s hard to ignore my expectations. It’s been more than 4 interviews so far and I’m at the final stage. They even said I’m a finalist. It’s hard to not think about it

I just went through the same thing and got a no today it sucks.
