So this happened with me today . As i was travelling in a metro there was this cute girl sitting right across , nd I was watching reels on my iphone 15 and i took a screenshot , the sound made from the screenshot made the girl uncomfortable and she confronted me and created a huge ruckus 😭😭🙂‍↔️ And someone stood up and asked to check my phone and delete the photo but then i showed them that i just took a screenshot Apparently nothing happened but, I was put on a tight spot there so please r/apple change the screenshot sound effect on iphones

I am bilingual in Spanish and often I dictate instead of using the keyboard and I like to be able to do this in Spanish. In the past I would just tap on the globe and it would switch to Spanish for me. Now there's a little EN ES on the spacebar but if I try to speak in Spanish Siri doesn't recognize it and tries to type something in English that sounds like what I just said. Any idea where I get the globe icon back?

I have a problem with my iPhone 2G 16GB running, I believe, OS version 3.1.3. First of all, the battery of the device charges, but not to the maximum (I think it charges around 20%). iPhone is stuck in recovery mode (iTunes cable logo). When I connect it to my Windows 10 PC, the PC does not recognize the connection to the iPhone, but only charges it (the iPhone is also absent in the driver list). The same goes for the Windows XP virtual machine, where I successfully repaired the operating system of other 2G iPhones a few weeks ago. Unlike, however, on my MacBook Sequoia 2024, when I start the iPhone in DFU mode (totally black screen) the Mac recognizes it, but from the finder and the Apple configurator it doesn't allow me to restore it and makes me understand that the iPhone probably cannot proceed in recovery mode. What's the problem? Could it be a hardware problem?

I have an iPhone SE. I was working in the woods in an area with poor reception and tried to talk with one of my sons. He could not hear me so I sent a text saying I would call him later. Two hours later, I was back home and picked up my phone to call him. There was a text message in a box, two paragraphs long, about the plot of an old science fiction story. It was waiting to be sent from me to my son. I had not typed it.

I called my son, and he did not know anything about it. I had been working in the woods alone over that two hours, and had not spoken to anyone. I did not access my phone during that interval. I went ahead and sent the message to my son, and he identified the story as "Where Once the Sweet Birds Sang." We have both read it, but I did not recognize it from the text description.

After I sent the message to him I scrolled back over our messages. My message to him two hours earlier had not been delivered. He had texted me in the interval, but I had not seen his text. The mysterious outgoing message followed his text. I do not know where it came from.

I spoke to another of my sons, who works in IT, and we went through the Apps and Settings on my phone, but did not find any illicit activity. The phone has been recently updated and is up to standard.

Does anyone know how a seemingly random fragment of a text conversation by a third party could have gotten into an outgoing text message field on my phone addressed to my son?

Maybe people already know this but just discovered a nifty trick and though I’d share. I was rearranging my icons but putting games into the “Games” folder one by one was tiring me because I have so many. But mistake as I was dragging one game to the folder, I discovered that if you are holding an icon and you tap another, they are automatically pilled together. What this meant is instead of me dragging one game icon at a time, I pilled 20 and moved them all into the games folder at the same time! You can also use the second finger to scroll between screens and tap icons as you go, collecting them. That saved so much going back and forth.

So my daughter woke up Friday to her messages going through as texts. I tried a bunch of things to no avail. Got busy this weekend and finally was able to call our carrier today. Everything in T mobile end was fine. We reset network settings and when we signed back in a message popped up saying IMessage couldn’t be sued due to an error. So they sent me to Apple support. After doing a bunch of things with Apple I had to fill out a form. The guy on the phone told me that he was able to unblock my daughter’s account but then it would immediately go back to blocked. He said it seemed like a glitch. Filled out the form and was told they’d be in contact within 24 hours. Ok fine. Well, my daughter goes to get onto her iPad and realizes that every single iMessage that was sent over the weekend was in her iPad message history (so her iPad has been getting the messages but not her iPhone obviously). Then we get an email tonight stating her iMessage account is ready to use. Great. However, some messages are iMessage while others are texts. I told her to turn phone off and back on and see what happens. I guess I’m just super confused on what’s going on! Has this happened to anyone else? Also, I’m wondering why she hasn’t gotten any of the messages that her iPad was receiving even via green text? She missed so many important texts from her coaches over the weekend and she’s stressed out. I plan to call back tomorrow but wondering is this happened to anyone else and what is the issue? Thanks.

My company offers phones a bit cheaper than normal, so I was wondering if it’s worth to get the 16e over 16 or 16 pro. New models will be announced soon so I think these will be even cheaper, or just get a 17, but just want to hear from people who has tried 16e if it’s good. I think it looks the best and I prefer anything minimal.

For context, 16 pro costs 836€, 16 costs 554€ and 16e costs 340€.

I don’t care about the cameras too much, or the magsafe, but one thing I like is the dynamic island on my current phone, but for this price I can live without it probably.

Question is that do you think 16e is worth it for 340€? (~400$)

I have very strict parents and the App Store is removed from my phone from screen time, my parents are lazy and don’t wanna add the passcode for me to update my apps.i use to update them from iMessage because there was an App Store that didn’t let me download anything but did let me update my apps now it gone after I updated my whole phone. I don’t know any way to update it without the App Store is it impossible? I don’t have any socials downloaded on my phone and don’t feel as accepted because of it especially with people my age.

Hi all, I am facing speaker issues while on call. Sometimes my earphone speaker works and sometimes it doesn’t. I check this by using loudspeaker option which always works. Is anyone else facing this same issue?

Is it just me, or is this just bad? It’s so damn frustrating when I swipe down to search an I app and it almost never shows the one I’m looking for. Even when I hit “Show More Results,” it’s just a bunch of web searches. Half the time even Apple’s own apps don’t show up. Every once in a while it works, but rarely. Am I missing a setting somewhere, or does this feature just suck?

so my iPhone 13 won't connect to anything at all,it won't connect to wifi,bluetooth or even cellular data all it has its the signal looping with it saying no service(yes I restarted it, yes I already put in and out the SIM card)it keeps on saying I need to run a diagnostic in it but I can't since it won't connect to anything at all.Anyone got any advice??

As the title says. A lot of photos I have been taking recently are showing up blurry in my photo albums despite not being blurry at the time I took them. Additionally, photos won’t send via iMessage but screenshots of the photos will. I still have plenty of storage and can receive photos ok. Any way to fix this issue?

I’ve got an iPhone 13, and I was planning to upgrade to the iPhone 17 next month. But when this week I noticed my battery was at 79%, I figured to get battery replacements since I pay for AppleCare+ monthly.

When I brought it in, the tech some water damage I didn’t even know about. Instead of just swapping the battery, they offered me a brand new iPhone 13 (refurbished, but for all purposes it’s a new phone) for $99.

Now I’m thinking of just sticking with this phone as long as I can. My question is: if I keep paying for AppleCare+ and hold onto this phone for 3+ more years, will Apple still replace it when things go wrong? In 2028, would I still be getting another iPhone 13?

I understand that software updates will eventually stop, but I’m only asking about AppleCare+ coverage/replacements.

So i went into a pool about 12 feet and went all the way to the bottom, back up then all the way down and at the bottom i realized my phone was in my pocket 😭 i left it to dry while i continued swimming and when i got home i cleaned it up and sat it to rest. I checked on it before going to bed and now face id doesn’t work, vibration makes a high pitch squeak or doesn’t do anything at all and charger only works sometimes. Any idea if i can fix it on my own or do i have to go to a shop again because im trying to avoid a lecture from my parents on the way 😂

I just switched from long-time use of Android phones to iPhone 16. I used the app provided by Apple to make the switch. I got a message during this process that said I was filling my iCloud up, but it completed.

My questions are these:

1. Does my iCloud account now contain redundant copies of my photos, ten years of Gmails, etc.? If so, how do I find those copies and delete them?

2. I plan to continue using the Google apps (Gmail, photos, Calendar, etc.) since I share with other family members. Can I safely delete the Mail app and all its data? How about Google Calendar? Google Photos?

A friend gave me their old iPhone 6 and I was wondering if I can get it setup to play music from VLC Media Player but I can’t login to it with an Apple account it says to update the iPhone to the latest version of iOS does anyone know what I need to do to get VLC on this thing?

I went to a bar last night, and it was missing when I left. I presume my phone died when I lost it because it went to voicemail immediately when I realized it was gone. I've been tracking my location on my iPad, and hadn't moved until an hour ago, it said it was at a mall. But my sisters say on their Find My apps, the location is still where it was last night. Apple Support is not helpful. Does this all make sense? I am desperate for any help because I just got the phone and don't have the theft and loss protection, apparently.

Three days ago I was pickpocketed and my unlocked iPhone 15 Plus was stolen. The thief was on a motorcycle, and people ran after him. Since my phone is set to lock the screen after 30 seconds, I assumed it had locked before he could stop the motorcycle, but God knows. The theft happened around 11:15 a.m., and by 11:40 a.m. Lost Mode was successfully activated. Shortly after, I requested the IMEI and line to be blocked.

I noticed that around 11:24 a.m. the thief changed the password of two of my Gmail accounts and connected them to his own iPhone. For the main account, I was able to change the password and remove his device in less than 10 minutes. For the old email I no longer use (which was inactive due to full storage), it took me about two hours to do the same.

My banking apps were inside a hidden folder, Control Center couldn’t be accessed from the lock screen, and he couldn’t change the Face ID/passcode without another secondary password. Apple’s stolen device protection mode was also enabled. The phone had an eSIM.

The only thing that happened after that, between Thursday and Saturday, were 2 phishing SMS messages sent to my recovery phone number, 1 WhatsApp message, and another WhatsApp message pretending to be Apple Support sent to my own number (which I had already recovered that same afternoon with my carrier). Around 5 p.m. I received a few emails as if someone was trying to access one of my email accounts, but nothing else happened.

From what I can tell, my WhatsApp wasn’t touched (it was open at the time of the theft, but if they logged out they would only be able to log back in with Face ID or my passcode), nor were my banking apps (which I also blocked almost immediately), or anything else besides the emails passcodes that was changed within two hours. My iCloud password and recovery phone number were changed on the same day, so the phishing attempts make sense.

The phone only emitted 3 location pings—2 of them within the first two hours after the theft, and the last one two days ago at a shopping mall in an upscale area of my city. I reported everything to the police, filed a report, etc. In the end, I decided to erase the device from Find My (not remove it), but it’s still showing as pending (obviously, my line was disconnected for a day and they weren't able to connect to WiFi, so I assume IF they're able to break in and connect to WiFi it'll erase in a beat, right?)

Honestly, everything seems fine, but I’m still worried they might have my data. When I enabled Lost Mode, did the screen lock instantly? Could they have put the phone in airplane mode and are using it without Wi-Fi? I haven’t noticed any further changes, but is it possible for them to bypass Lost Mode? Will the erase eventually happen? I feel calmer knowing I don’t seem to have been heavily affected, but I’m still afraid of what might be happening.
