Hi, wondering how much and what kind of fundraising your schools or booster clubs do for Oireachtas? Thanks!

hi guys.... so i'm an open dancer & usually i use the summer break to lock in & practice as much as i want (as i don't have school or studying to worry about)... but about 3 weeks into summer, i got an ingrown toenail on my left foot. i took antibiotics, got it cut by a podiatrist & it was all good. (the affected area was pretty close to the tip of my toenail so i assume it was easier to fix). i was told to wait about 3 days till i got back to practicing (with my usual dance shoes).
once the 3 days are up, my right foot gets an ingrown toenail!!! "i just got my toenails cut professionally 3 days ago, how could this happen!? (turns out it's mainly a little bit lower on the side rather than near the tip of my toenail) đ" anyways, i went back to the podiatrist & she said:
"i could just cut the side of the toenail (the affected area), but it would just grow back the same. i'll put this little sterilized white piece on the side to try and guide it to not curve into the side, but if that doesn't work you'll have to do this little surgery" (i'll save the jarring details but i reaalllyy don't want to go the surgery route)
so... i've been taking a break from putting on my dance shoes/practice shoes (capezio web sneaker) for basically the entire summer (which the guilt of that is a whole other story) (most of the time, whenever i've put on my dance shoes, it was too painful to practice due to either my right/left toe), however, i have a dance camp next week & classes start at the beginning of september. i'm eager to put my dance shoes back on, but i'm scared of making it worse. and just in general i'm scared of what will happen this season if i put my dance shoes back on and i can barely dance without it being extremely painful (especially since oireachtas season is literally right around the corner.. actually, in my books it already started).
any advice/personal stories/literally whatever from other dancers who've experienced ingrown toenails would be greatly appreciated đđđđ
what i'm planning to do:

I have been searching far and wide for this hornpipe, which I know is on the Feis app and in the intermediate, open, and champ categories. There is a part of it where some whistling occasionally appears, but I couldn't find it. Could anyone help?

No matter what region you are in, fall is coming! And that means signing up for Oireachtas hotel blocks. Fun times! For better or worse, that's part of the Irish Dance Experienceâą.
I raced a half marathon (13.1 miles) on Sunday but that was nowhere anxiety-producing as trying to get a hotel room (in normal cases, it's pretty easy but with a competition bringing in dancers AND families from 14 (!) states, it's a zoo).
Best of luck! And have your credit card ready lol!

Hey, I just bought my daughter her first ever solo dress. It REALLY needs a clean. How do we clean it.

How do you come up with a price to sell a dress?
We have a dress that we had made last year that we are going to sell... Not sure what to ask for it.
Details: U7-8, John Carey, Bespoke, Full crystal package, Worn once, Less than a year old, Perfect condition, Unaltered, etc. I have a few people interested in it....

Does anyone have a recommendation for the central Florida area for a tailor who is good with very blinged out dresses? Trying to see if we can get more time from the solo dress we have before we need to find a new.
TIA

Hi I am a teenage dancer who competes at a primary/intermediate level although in the past few months I have improved at greatly and hope to remain that way. My old pair which are a 4 1/2 fit well so I want a size 5. I need a velvet bottom and large tips as I am starting to go on blocks. I also want loud rhythm but not to heavy as I still want to look lively while I dance. I also need shock absorbent shoes as I had part of my miniscus (shock absobing tissue) removed. Sorry if this is a lot to process, pricing is not an issue. Thank you!

Hello dancers and dance families,
I have a question about how often my daughter should be attending feiseanna. Sheâs 5 years old and started dancing about six months ago. Her instructor recommends attending as many local feiseanna as possible, saying it will help prepare her for the future.
That seems like a lot to me. When my older daughter danced (at a different, less competitive school, almost 10 years ago), she only participated in about three feiseanna per year. Iâm not completely against the ideaâI just wanted to check if this is the norm for more competitive schools.
Thanks so much!

I have been trying for MONTHS to sell our dress. I paid the fee for dance again and requested for my post to be removed after a month of 0 inquiries. Iâve paid for feis dress sales and have had 0 inquiries there as well. Iâve posted in over 10 Facebook groups.. getting 0 traction. The dress is modern, only worn a couple of times and is in perfect immaculate condition.. Iâm asking for way less than what I paid for it from the Designer. Iâve tried NANS and local feis dress racks and nothing.. selling in our school isnât an option.
Does anyone have advice?
