Rolling partner popped my elbow even though I tapped and I threw a punch after. AITAH
Edit: Yes, this is a shitpost in reaction to this post which was deleted.

Was rolling with a dude who got me in a nasty super fast armbar. I immediately tapped but he just cranked it harder. I tapped again really hard against his legs and also gave a verbal tap. It was almost like he took that as a signal to crank harder. I heard and felt an audible pop in my elbow, and only then did he release.
Somehow in the frustration and anger at having my taps ignored and feeling the injury happen I just lost my temper. I threw a punch that had no target and no real intention to injure. Suddenly he started acting all cool like nothing happened and tried to shake my hand and mumbled something about never rolling with me again lol.
I went to the coach and told him what happened and he said yeah he has a history of thinking everything is porrada. He said he’s told him before to tone it down but it’s been hard for him.
(Don’t know where the shitpost tag is)

Yes. This is a shit post from "the other guys" perspective because OP from that post wouldn't say what he did to deserve the punch.

Read through the other post - OP stated there were no submissions/sub attempts, but that they were stalling a lot due to being out of shape. I wonder if their partner was just getting smothered while OP stalled lmao. In their defense, it could easily be that OP's partner was unstable/ego maniac and needs to be kicked out though

If this is real, the problem is the coach and gym. A coach that knows someone is unsafe and shrugs his shoulders about it deserves an empty gym.

So you tapped, then tapped, then tapped again and he cranked it harder each time? Either he’s an a-hole or you hummingbird tapped and have exaggerated what happened.

Fake. If guy does this IRL, he gets jumped some time down the road.

To recap..you think a not very uncommon situation in gyms is fake, and your solution to handle someone who already popped your arm is to fight them some more? Brilliant strategy.

No. The story is fake or exaggerated. When his arm "popped" it was either injured or it wasn't. The OP originally implied that this "pop" was a huge deal like an injury caused by opponent going too far. But instead of writhing in agony and/or going to urgent care, he walks up to sensei who says "yeah he's like that. Just gotta get used to it" and OP goes about his business, whines here.

I’d be asking for him to be sent packing. He has a history, the coach told him, now you’re hurt cause he can’t relax. Absolutely unacceptable.
Obviously NTA

People like that will never level up past white belt, and even as a blue belt, they’ll still roll like a white.

Lol. I bet if people asked him what he did to deserve the punch he wouldn't answer them but definitely respond to the people saying "you" should be banned from the gym.

In my gym thats an instant ban for life and a call to the police. A tap is a revoke of consent to continue. By continuing he committed a crime.

You need the mat enforcement on the case. We had a guy like that but was a white belt, we were about to pull straws on who was going to give him a vacation.
