I’ve been crying so much over this. I genuinely can’t believe how heartless some people can be…

When its a legitimate layoff, I don't panic anymore. I learned from covid. Unemployment isn't bad. I see it as a vacation from work. During that time, I enjoyed not working after many years of working very hard.

I work 2 jobs now and I miss it sometimes. I have a full-time job thats very stable and a part of a union. I cant stand working for private sectors anymore because they can fire you for any reason very easily

Yup. Red state citizen here - $350 a week capped at 12 weeks. It doesn’t even fully cover my mortgage and HOA fees lmfao Our governor has point blank said he wants people to get back to work in jobs like the chicken farms and slaughterhouses.

Maryland, which is pretty blue thanks to the DC area but also insanely expensive also thanks to the DC area, caps unemployment at less than $500/week. I couldn't make my mortgage payment on that much.

Ca give 1800 a month. You can't survive off that.

MD is expensive because they tax the hell out of you. Be prepared for more taxes since Moore blew that $5 billion surplus. SMH

Unemployment comes from a fund employers pay into, not "the state."

It's more of an insurance. Tge more employees you have the more you pay.
