I’ve been crying so much over this. I genuinely can’t believe how heartless some people can be…

When its a legitimate layoff, I don't panic anymore. I learned from covid. Unemployment isn't bad. I see it as a vacation from work. During that time, I enjoyed not working after many years of working very hard.

I work 2 jobs now and I miss it sometimes. I have a full-time job thats very stable and a part of a union. I cant stand working for private sectors anymore because they can fire you for any reason very easily

Thats not the reality for many. I got laid off a year ago and the job situation in my country (canada) has meant I havent had stable employment since. I ran through my savings, had no choice but to Max out a credit card. I probably have to get rid of my dogs and will be homeless by the end of the year. I have health issues due to not being able to eat regularly.

I am 19 and not financially independent. When I got laid off originally I was a 17yr old working part time - i didnt have the hours. The most recent time I was only there for a little over 3 months and still didnt have enough hours.

The government will not pay me anything, nor should they since I still live under my parents roof rent free in exchanging care for them. On top of that, we do get benefits from ow until my dad gets on odsp.

There is 0 reason why I should be getting any kind of government support. The government doesnt have to ne paying for the fact I cant hold down a job. That's my own fault.
