Judo News IJF announced new rules

All jacket grips and gripping under the belt to the level of the top of the inner thigh are allowed but shido will be given if using the jacket grip or under the belt to the level of the top of the inner thighs grip negatively.

What a wonderful sentence, not at all hard to read, much like this rule is not at all going to be inconsistently interpreted.

I'd say, depends on the referee, the weather, the name on the bacl of the athlete's gi and a plethora or other things you won't be able to figure out. But I hope the answer is yes

So do I. Even if Te Guruma was the only throw allowed that utilized leg grabs that would be an improvement I think. It's amazing judo, a great counter attack and also good for self-defense and no-gi grappling.

I agree with every word. Also, my favourite throw and I've shown it as such in my belt gradings since going for my orange belt like 15 or so years ago
