Not allowing arm bars until brown/black is stupid.

We're fine to do them here in Australia, aside from specific novice contests designed to ease new people in. Otherwise your given community tournament allows it. 1 u/criticalsomago Jun 07 '25 It makes sense. Why teach kids arm-bars and chokes? Tachi-waza is soo much more difficult and critical to learn at an early age. Holding of on advanced newaza makes for better judokas in the end.
