Call me crazy but I find easier to do Harai Goshi without Gi rather than with Gi.

This is not crazy at all. The vast majority of all the 'Judo Throws' you see done in no-gi are basically Harai Goshi or O-Guruma. It works very nicely with an Underhook, Overhook or even Lat grips.

You don't see Harai Goshi very much in the gi if anything.

It's prolly not crazy. In gi, you'd default to gripping the lapel but having the tsurite under the arm and on ukes shoulder makes it way easier to maintain contact with uke's upper body, which is a huge help in harai goshi. So while I don't really practice no-gi, I can really see why you'd think that.

I personally use the Koshi Guruma grip.

It is always easier to fully insert your hip without a stiff arm posting on your shoulder

Yeah, but I mean Harai Goshi is technically an Uki Goshi with a lifting leg blocking the opponent's leg so the hip doesn't need to be completely inserted.

Yes, hip to hip contact is much easier to get in no gi
