Call me crazy but I find easier to do Harai Goshi without Gi rather than with Gi.

It is always easier to fully insert your hip without a stiff arm posting on your shoulder

Yeah, but I mean Harai Goshi is technically an Uki Goshi with a lifting leg blocking the opponent's leg so the hip doesn't need to be completely inserted.
