General Training How many Gis do you guys and gals have?
Just curious, say I want to train at least three days a week, does that mean I should have three Gis?

3, I need just one more to be happy, I have 2 BJJ gis and 1 judo gi, I train both martial arts 2 to 3 times a week, so laundry is a pain in the ass.

Only need 1 if you wash it immediately after every class (this is best for hygiene anyways, so bacteria doesn't linger). As long as you aren't doing back-to-back days this should be enough time to air dry.
I use 2 gis since some weeks I train 4x which includes a Friday evening + Saturday morning.

Two. Especially when I'm training more regularly not having to stress about getting it dry in winter is great.

Just 1 and I wash it every time then dry it in between days but sometimes I have to train while it's still wet which isn't that bad because after a few minutes of training I'm already sweating and warm enough to feel comfortable. No one has noticed or complained either

In a typical week, I do six sessions. I find that three is sufficient for this. In addition, I have two gi's for competition only. If I train more than six times a week, I occasionally need to use one of my comp gi's. But typically, even at seven sessions, I can still use just my three for training.

I’ll be honest I’m not a 100% sure. I buy a new white or blue one every year or two. Gun to my head I think I have four of each.

Lucky to live in a country where I have a maid that will wash mine after every practice. But I have 3, one too big, makes me look like I am wearingy dad's gi, one old school thick and one a bit too tight...

I have 4. I train between 3 and 4 times per week. Two are similar, but then I have a lighter and a heavier one. That also let me use different stuff if I feel like it.

I kept it to two when I was training daily, plus a seperate super heavy weight one to be thrown around in for demonstrations.
At the lower end of the scale I did not always wash them between every session, instead wiping them down and spraying with sanitiser and then hanging where they can air out, washing once or twice a week.
This did depend on time of year and intensity of session though, hot and sweaty = wash, cold and relaxed technical = sanitise for good measure.
I'd have more trousers and t shirts though even if I was limiting how many tops I bought/kept.

2 judo gis that fit me, 1 that's way too small (don't buy off brands on Amazon lol), and an Adidas top that's missing pants that I never wear because I don't like the shoulder stripes
I also have 1 BJJ gi, a 2 kendo gi (with hakama), and 1 karate gi

4 I wear and would pass Gi control, 6 that would fit me well enough to be worn in training. I think that’s it. However I really only wear the 4 that would pass Gi control. I will probably give away the other two as soon as some of the younger guys in our club hit puberty and grow a little bit, because four are more than enough for me

I currently have 4. 3 white, 1 blue. In different weightings. One is already pretty worn out and will soon be discarded and then need to be replaced. Since I'm on the mat every day as a trainer and train myself twice a week, it can't be enough.

4 white, 2 blue only for competition, doing 5 sessions a week when possible (working too much atm), I also never use them dirty, only repeating if i really couldn't wash it or if training was only technical study

Three. But I wear them simultaneously so laundry is a bitch…
