General Training Fingernail completely ripped off
Well I had my fingernail ripped off. Completely gone. No not at Judo. I had a large splinter go under my nail at work. Anyway just looking at ideas on what actual training i could still do. I can't even flex any fingers on that hand without the skin pulling on the injury. So far my main idea is just turn up to training and take social media material. Hit me up with some abstract ideas

If you are willing to spend some money, you could get a finger splint that is usually used for broken fingers. Tape that thing up and you could do some light training without putting stress on your injury. I would give it maybe 2 weeks though.
Otherwise, Ukemi and Tandoku-Renchu can be done without using your hands.

Funny, just came back from a session where hurt my own finger nail. Bruised beneath, didn’t lose it.
Gonna pay attention to this post.

Tape your nail when you go train. One time my nail got bruised under then in the next training it got ripped off

Any point in trimming it too? I should have done it before going but I guess I could try now?

Good question! I almost took my own fingernail off by gripping a lapel. And yes I trim my nails and file them. Any tips on preventing this?

Time to work on footsweeps.
My biggest judo development came following a rib separation. I spent around 3 months at each training (5x per week, 1.5-2 hrs) just working ashi-barai solo drills.
When I started randori again I discovered I had a monster tsubame-gaeshi and the ashi-barai training had improved almost everything about my judo.
