I’ve heard that while ATLA was originally airing, there weren’t that many on the cast and crew who preferred kataang (they liked zuko and katara better). so to see that there are many people now on avatar studios that not only enjoys kataang but has drawn fanart of it is a great thing.

The fact that the majority of the artists featured here are women adds some nice amount of irony when you remember how Kataang gets stereotyped as the ship that appeals to the male gaze/male power fantasy.

I love that! that being said I think this thread is specifically referring to creatives at avatar studios making fanart. as far as i’m aware, she’s never made fanart of them before?
