Hello friends! I am in Kelowna (near downtown) for 24 hours and would like some delicious wine to bring home for myself! I don’t know much about wine except that I do NOT like anything dry and have typically enjoyed something on the fruitier side! Any and all recommendations are welcome🩷

Because the staff there have never had a decent answer to a question I've asked, scoffed at me for inquiring about any Austrian whites, and are generally surly most every time I go in there.

Wine opinions will be all over the map.

But check out volcanic hills, cedar creek and/or quails gate. You will get some of the best the region can offer.

Someone very close to me is working at Cedar Creek this season, and the quality of fruit coming in appears to be off the charts, and the wine maker is brilliant. 2025 will be a memorable vintage.

Elephant Island has the best fruit wines. Its located in Naramata but the BC Liquor stores as well as Save-On foods carry some of their stuff! Its what I gift to all my friends who aren't partial to traditional wines.

Sorry,but it’s like asking what colour blue do you like. 200 +/- wineries everything from sparkling to white to rose to reds and every variation in between. The best wine you can have is the one that you open,pour,and enjoy with the ones you love…

PERSONALLY: I prefer a Bourdeau blend, Merlot forward. Inexpensive - Nagging doubt : The Leap $35 Middle- Black hills : Nota Bene - 37% Cab/Sauv 35% Merlot $80 Upper end - Check mate : Merlot- 100% $120

There are very few BC wines I’d spend 40+ dollars on. Blue Mountain has a great lineup sub 40, is family owned and run and has an amazing estate property where all the wines come from. The brut style sparkling is delicious, the Chard is great their pinot program is in line with wineries from Wash and Oregon.

Whenever I have friends that don’t like dry wines I get them - 50th Parallel Estate Pinot Gris. Everyone always loves it!!

All wines from Silver Sage winery suit a sweeter palate, especially the fruit ones. If you can find them in store, enjoy! They don't sell their wines in many liquor stores.

Intrigue (Lake country) - social white

Volcanic hills (west Kelowna) - lava white

Vibrant Vines (Kelowna) - woops (also super pretty bottle)

All of these lean sweet and all of them are phenomenal patio pounders. If you can’t make it to the wineries, most local liquor stores carry these - but you’re pretty much guaranteed to get these at Wine and Beyond on 97 just past the mall. You can also get yourself some Elephant Island fruit wines there - absolutely decadent. My favs are raspberry and cassis

I don't know if anyone has mentioned Silver Sage but Silver Sage all the way! Their 'The Sage' wine is Thanksgiving in bottle. And their fruit wines have you singing your heart out while dancing in fun fields of flavor!
