Banner: division of labour

All right. The basis we are working from is this banner. Various minor modifications are still being discussed, but I think we should give each contributor some freedom in drawing "his" section, rather than endlessly spamming details and trying to get a consensus on absolutely everything.

With that in mind, let's try to divide some tasks. I need volunteers for several different sections. I will update this post with usernames as people pick a section.

Let the volunteering begin!

The deadline for contributions is Friday 23:59 CEST, so don't wait too long with picking a section and drawing it.

could you please do me a favour and list up the header items in their desired sort-order?

E.g.:

  1. old ship
  2. windmill
  3. colonials
  4. etc...

Oh shit, I didn't realise that every entry would take up the entire vertical space.

I'll retouch mine to "compress" them horizontally.

Also, I'm totally ok with them getting dropped if Pimmeh's drawings are more fun - I can post them in the comments.

I got the impression there's quit a few ideas lined up - don't know if everyone will deliver, but if so we might run out of space for the flea market.

I already finished anyway, managed to squeeze 53 pixels out altogether. If we need to save some space, here's the alternatives:

EDIT: Actually, the flea market should feel cramped anyway, so squeezing the jokes together has some artistic merit too ;)

Yes, and i can overlap them a bit. That'd only look more realistic. But i've saved your changes just in case.

BTW, can you send me the background image? I'd like to colour the buildings but sabas isn't online, and the example he posted was cut off at the top for some reason.

Ah. Well in that case it's:

  • old warship
  • old windmill
  • drowning colonials (I guess? Whatever works with the bridge and stuff)
  • Flea market / King & Queen / etc
  • Bicycle
  • New windmill (more or less at the same position as the bicycle, except higher / more in the background)
  • New warship
