Banner: division of labour

All right. The basis we are working from is this banner. Various minor modifications are still being discussed, but I think we should give each contributor some freedom in drawing "his" section, rather than endlessly spamming details and trying to get a consensus on absolutely everything.

With that in mind, let's try to divide some tasks. I need volunteers for several different sections. I will update this post with usernames as people pick a section.

Let the volunteering begin!

The deadline for contributions is Friday 23:59 CEST, so don't wait too long with picking a section and drawing it.

Right, less than 12 hours to go, what do we still need...

  • Colouring the houses in the background (/u/vanderZwan?)
  • KLM plane (/u/Potverdorie?)
  • King and queen (/u/XeyBlazey?)
  • Windmills (I can draw those, but within this timespan they're not going to be great works of art obviously)
  • Figuring out a solution for the colonials-bridge problem (/u/javacode, /u/sabasNL)
  • A way to work in the warships, as right now there isn't any water for them to sail through. Unless you make them really tiny and put them in the gracht, of course...

Coloured houses

If you look closely you can see the exact moment where I went "fuck it"

Brick-effect done by first colouring the houses opaque, upscaling 4x NearestNeighbour, hand-scribbling horizontal lines to darken/lighten spots, then downscaling 4x NearestNeighbour. Windows were then drawn on top. So I think that's still kosher.

Looks good, but how come you're using /u/Javacode's slightly adjusted row of houses yet my background?

Are you sure it's the same as the one in the header?
