Grew up near this thing and didn’t think too much of it but looking back what a crazy structure inside and out. That whole Nowa Huta area with its history and 𝚋̶𝚛̶𝚞̶𝚝̶𝚊̶𝚕̶𝚒̶𝚜̶𝚝̶ (edit: socrealist) style is creepy and interesting AF.

Space-age architecture is a probably better way to describe the design. A lot buildings in Poland from that era have that aesthetics. They all look like they can fly. Space exploration was in its infancy then and so was commercial aviation. The promise of what the future may bring inspired people back then. We of course live in that future and that future is RyanAir. These buildings don't inspire us anymore.

True, until you face the sculpture inside. Gives Major Tom vibes.

If you're interested in this type of architecture, I'd recommend visiting the Church of the Holy Spirit (Kościół Ducha Świętego) in Tychy. It's pretty impressive.

I talk about nowa huta city (now district) not this particular building that is exceptional. It’s very distinct planned city with consistent architecture . Only similar example is Magnitogorsk in Russia.
