Banh Mi craving

Hi folks

I’ve been travelling for eight weeks now and will be in Krakow next week. I plan on eating the hell out of plenty of Polish food (even doing a cooking class) but NGL - I am CRAVING a good banh mi. A proper Vietnamese kick-me-in-the-face-with-chilli banh mi.

So my question to the brains trust is - will I find this in Krakow or do I need to wait for another city??

Thank you redditers 🙌

If you can get to Azory (130 bus from main station) you will find Przystanek Wietnam. Incredibly good banh mi. Other places in the city sell them (notably the branch of Wietnam restaurant on Mostowa) but if you want the best, it's out near IKEA. The owner is Polish-Vietnamese and really puts herself into her food with pride.

Amazing thank you! I’m not sure I’ll get out there but it’s definitely on my list to try! I appreciate you ☺️

It's a 15 minute bus, not totally in the middle of nowhere. I moved house last year and one of the reasons I chose my new place is proximity to Przystanek Wietnam.

Drop a review when you try it. I haven't had a good banh Mi in a while now

Where's the one near IKEA? I haven't seen any there.

I saw your comment and I know this place, but I thought you were referring to another banh mi shop which is actually near Ikea. Because the bus terminus - well, that's... not near Ikea. That's a whole bus stop away and on the other side of the road to boot. This is in no way "near".

It's a ten minute walk, if we're really being that pedantic. I know because I live between the two.

Big question: Do they put coriander into the sandwich?

As someone cursed by the soapy gene, I can confirm she is happy to comply with the bez kolendry request.

So it's in there by default? That's what makes a banh mi taste like a banh mi.

Easy one: BaWietka

I wouldn't recommend them. Overpriced, small and not even very tasty in comparison to which I could get in Warsaw (Viet's Baguette).

There's also Banh Mi Dzień Dobry in Mazowiecka.

A vietnamese lady I met said it's the best in the city.
