When do the dreams chill out?
5 days cold turkey and struggling to sleep, but when I have been able to manage to get to sleep, I've been having the most intense nightmares of my life. Any idea when these will subside? It's making an already difficult time almost unbearable at this point Cheers

Bro. I hit day 18 and the dreams were still going hard. All emotionally intense. Random. Did I mention intense? I like to think of it as this part of our Brain that’s been dormant for the duration we’ve been smoking, is turned back on, and working double time.

On day 6 here and had my first bonkers dream last night, which I actually really enjoyed. It's good for the mind and the soul to be able to dream again.

On 6 months clean right now. Dreams started chilling out after two months for me. It is an awkward phase to go through lol. Hang in there buddy.

I suggest 1-2 months for me after like 8 years of daily smoking, but I still had occasionally crazy dreams and sleep paralysis (would be unable to sleep, try to force myself to sleep and then slip into hypnagogia when exhausted in the early AM) for at least 12 months after. I continued drinking and occasionally taking other psychoactive substances though, so it could have been that.
I think you’ll find that it will get better from here, certainly once you go more than a month without. I know it’s hard waking up and feeling like you went 12 rounds with Mike Tyson, but it will get better.

Took 2-3 weeks for me for the intensity to subside, it sucks for real though. I posted about the same thing around 5 days in, anyone who is saying "dreams are great even if they're bad" doesn't have any idea man. 5 weeks in, the intensity is mostly gone, and they're easy to handle even if they're bad. I've even started having good dreams!
Hang in there, it gets easier.

I’m on day 5 as well. Been having the craziest, scary dreams too. Just last night I dreamt that my kidneys were failing and I had edema. I woke up with a ton of anxiety, yet managed to get back to sleep only to wake up after a dream about an alien invasion.
Sounds funny, but seeing a UFO/aliens in my dream was terrifying. I hope it stops soon too.
