University 🎓 How to make friends on freshers week / orientation?
Asking for my brother lol. His orientation is on Wednesday in TU Dublin and he's nervous about meeting and making friends with people there over his first few weeks. Any tips? And anyone having their orientation on Wednesday 10th Sep in TU Dublin on Bolton street? If so maybe yous can be friends lolll ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

I had my induction day on the 3rd and my best advice is tell him to be confident enough to walk up to someone who is also alone (or with a group) and ask everyone’s names as a convo starter. That’s what I did anyway, I took a seat, scanned the room and built up the confidence to go over to a girl who I noticed was also alone, I asked her name what she’s studying and we got talking just about random stuff like the schools we were in. Ofc this convo might not last for hours there’ll be some awkward silences but making the first move will have u feeling more confident when it comes to making friends in your course.
