Video One second from every episode of The Legend of Korra.
Except from the finales which have two clips and the final episode which has a longer clip.

Damnit, what a gorgeous series.

u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
It’s one of those series where you feel lucky to be born just in time to experience them lol.
Atla and Lok have such a special place in my soul.

u/alaska2ohio Aug 03 '25
I feel so lucky to have been following Korra while it was releasing and getting a new episode every week… what a treat.
46
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
I feel bad for the people who never gave a chance to Lok. They are truly missing out.
I am lucky to grow up while both shows were airing. I personally don’t even think of Lok and Atla as two separate shows.
6
u/christina_talks Aug 03 '25
I got to have that experience with ATLA as well. I still remember how excited I was when that first image of Korra looking out over Republic City was released.

u/Single_Cobbler6362 Aug 03 '25
That's for sure. I fucken cried 😭😂
As I was watching I started crying just cuz of memories growing up with it and also the amazing edit.

For a lot of books, movies, tv series, games etc. nostalgia makes them seem better in hindsight than they really were. LoK is one of these rare examples where it's the opposite - whenever I see clips of the show (or better yet - whenever I am rewatching it) I am swept away, as it always is much better than I remember it. This clip is one of these reminders I get every once in a while.

u/fidefi Aug 03 '25
Wow I thought this was only me every time I re-watch the show I find another thing to love about it

u/shibafrien Aug 03 '25
How can people not love this show … just lovely ❤️

13
u/un_caracolito Aug 03 '25
it had its issues because of how it was treated, but damn. it was still really good. I enjoy it just as much as ATLA.
3
u/Knot-Knight Aug 04 '25
It had issues because the writing wasn't as good as AtLA (which is SUCH a high bar). I absolutely love LoK, but season two is rough in the writing department. It's a great show with some weak points
1
u/lucky375 Aug 04 '25
It's an overall decent show, but not a great show in my opinion. Season 1 needed to get rid of the relationship nonsense. Season 2 was just not good. Season 3 needed to give us a well written villain. Season 4 was the best season.
1
u/SnagTheRabbit Aug 04 '25
It's really not that solidly written unfortunately. I think a lot of people tend to overinflate how bad it is, but it's still not that great.

u/El_nino_sin_amor Aug 03 '25
The background score, choosing the perfect scenes and making the most artistic video of korra ever, the last seconds paired with the music gave me literal goosebumps and tears. I have no words to describe how beautiful this edit is, reminds me of how happy and excited i was while watching korra and still makes me sad to see her go away. Thank you for making it ;)
29
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
This is making me so emotional. I am so glad you enjoyed it.
I had such a hard time choosing which clips to select from each episode but I think it turned out good.
3
u/crinklecunt-cookie Aug 03 '25
I’ve cried watching films/tv maybe only twice in my life and I just teared up a whole lot watching this. Your selections from each episode are fantastic and timed so well with the music, which was also a perfect pick. You did an excellent job making this. 💙
Thank you so much for ending with Korra and Asami walking off together. As a queer person, it meant a great deal to me to see their relationship broadcast to the world. Visibility is so important, now more than ever. So, thank you for continuing on with that.

u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
Jesus all these comments are gonna make me cry. It’s nice when your work is appreciated.
3
u/crinklecunt-cookie Aug 03 '25
You should be proud of your work. I’m glad you’re getting the praise, support, and encouragement you deserve.
3
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
This edit is getting love in the MAIN avatar subreddit which is full of Lok haters. I did not see this coming.
2
u/crinklecunt-cookie Aug 03 '25
Way to freaking go! 🎉🎉🎉 If you’re getting love for LoK content in the main subreddit, you gotta know you’ve done exceedingly well. You go, you!!! 🎉🎉🎉
2
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
Lok getting praised in the main sub is like harmonic convergence it happens once every 10.000 years.
1
1
u/NoredPD Aug 03 '25
LOK doesn't get that much attention in the main sub, but I don't believe theres as many haters in there as you think.
2
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
I am quite active there as well and there are quite a few. Not as many as they used to be though.
1
u/NoredPD Aug 03 '25
I will admit I don't keep the posts filtered by "new" anymore, so it's possible those posts just don't get popular enough to get to the "hot" section.

While making this I truly remembered how great that show was.

u/MasterJ94 Aug 03 '25
I believe you. Have you read the comics? They seem to be really good.
3
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
I have. Not that great unfortunately.
The story and the writing is pretty weak….
They are not bad just not as good as the show.

that made me want to rewatch it again now

Beautiful video, I congratulate you, you represented Korra in a beautiful way 👍👍

Masterpiece. Masterpiece. Masterpiece. Any fan of ATLA who isn't a fan of LOK strikes me as someone who didn't get it, or just didn't give Korra the chance she deserves. Phenomenal writing, conflict, development, and bending.
4
u/aromaticchicken Aug 03 '25
OP you have excellent taste and judgment. This was so well done! A mix of some of the huge "omg wtf!!! moments" as well as some of the most emotionally intense/moving ones as well.

Man this made me emotional. I love this fucking show. It's one of the best I've seen, ever. Korea did so much for the world and I'm so pissed that they're ruining her legacy.
I need to rewatch this.
5
u/TheFalconKid Aug 03 '25
Thanks OP, now I have to go back and watch the whole show because you just gave me that itch, hope you're happy.

i will always defend this show and Korra as a character to my last breath. Iconic. Amazing edit
4
u/MimikPanik Aug 04 '25
This is legit why Korra is my favorite of the two avatar shows, and overall why Korra is the best avatar IMO. Aang was great, and I love ATLA, but TLOK tugged at my heart strings more than ATLA ever did. It’s why when I rewatch avatar, I watch ATLA once and TLOK twice. Making me remember why I love this franchise so much, and I’m saving this to my phone because it’s beautiful.

This show was so good! I never get the hate about it: maybe some ATLA fans just wanted the exact same thing and were disappointed by a more mature approach?

u/douroumou Aug 04 '25
Book 2 of Lok was unfortunately very weak and at times bad. This thew of a lot of people.

u/Ilovecharli Aug 03 '25
Great edit. Love them all but man, season 3 is just a perfect season of television

Season 3 of Lok is peak television. It’s the peak of the Avatar franchise for me.

I haven’t done an atla one cause for some reason I always like editing Korra more.
Now with Korra’s death I am an a very heavy Korra era.
But it’s very possible that I will make one for Atla as well.

TLOK really is spectacular. It gets way more hate than it deserves. Given the act it followed, I think they did an incredible job trying to fill some very immense shoes. Great edit OP. I got goosebumps.

I love everything about the legend of Korra, except the giant fucking mecha at the end, hated the design, hated the idea of it. I also thought the smaller mecha were not as jarring I guess, idk how to put it.

A tear came to my eye remembering the series, and it made me want to watch it again.

u/jacobonia Aug 05 '25
When LOK came out, I loved it, but I found myself thinking I liked ATLA just slightly more. Now looking back, I'm realizing I like them both equally. Korra is so deep and complex that it keeps growing on you. Thanks for this edit--really amazing!

God I can’t imagine how long this took. I’ve spent a whole day just editing an 1hr of footage. Great edit
2
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
The edit one itself is not hard. No transition. The decision on what to put in it and what to leave out was a nightmare. Also choosing the song was a nightmare because the soundtrack of Lok is so freaking good.

This is not 1 second from every episode. There's quite a few missing actually.
1
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
Actually you are right. The sting is missing but first I couldn’t really find it and second I hate that episode.
1
u/noxcadit Aug 03 '25
Actually is just that episode, since it was missing it messed up the perception of a few episodes heheheh

Korea going avatar state and then that dudes tear just before exploding in the distance makes it look like she blew him the fuck up. Had to set my phone down to laugh.
1
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
Could have been a better ending to book 1
0
u/Jdawg_mck1996 Aug 03 '25
Most of Korra's problem as a show in comparison to ATLA was that it was multiple stories trying to be told in sections that never got a chance to cook in the oven. Every one of the books of Korra felt flat in their ending because there wasn't nearly as much build up.
1
u/douroumou Aug 03 '25
I don’t agree. I think every finale of Lok (apart from the disastrous book 2) was fantastic and great in its own ways.

I liked the alternate world this show created alot. I wouldve watched shows set in that world forever. I didnt like most of the characters as much as the original I imagine because less episodes to watch maybe?
