Discussion It would interesting if Sozin’s Comet plays a part in how the world is in Seven Havens.

I'm going to say this is LoK-related because this theory implicitly involves what Korra does when the comet returns.

What if it’s gonna hit the planet this is happening on so Korra has to save it and in the process dies, but she fails in a way, with the world cracking into the Havens/

The world becomes post-apocalyptic but she saves everyone from going the way of the dinosaurs

Cowboy Bebop provides me an interesting bit of inspiration here for how the hypothetical cataclysm might play out.
Comet hurtling towards Earth.
Korra goes to space (w/Asami's help) to stop the comet.
Korra glows it up and deflects the comet.
Comet now heads towards the moon.
Comet smashes into moon, sending rocks hurtling towards Earth and into orbit, causing some immediate destruction, and rock showers for the following decades. And tides get kind of messed up too owing to the moon having a sizable percentage of it's mass suddenly liberated.
Yue is upset about getting a comet to the face, and the populace blame Korra for the destruction, despite the alternative being a direct comet strike.

Maybe a powerful dragon uses the comet? The firebenders hunted a ton of dragons during the hundred year war, I can see a young dragon seeking vengeance on humans for decimating their people. Maybe it finds out about the comet, and being able to travel more freely between spirit and human worlds, gathers an army to invade during the comet. Or just lays waste to the world, could even be an accident, like it doesn't realize its own power.
Or gets into a war and the humans use a spirit vine a-bomb basically, and mess up the world.

Can you imagine a hundred Sparky-sparky-boom men hopped up on the power of the comet? That would do the trick, I think.

I really think the spirit nuclear war, or ww3 ending is most likely. Think about it, the Earth Kingdom is unstable AF. It will not last even if democratic. They're going to have a violent breakup eventually, and when it happens, with spirit nukes on the table, say good bye to civilization

I still like the idea that Korra sacrificed herself to unite spirits and humans for the sake of a unified target

I feel like that'd be a bit of an annoying rehash, but now I'm interested in a potential special showing the Korra cast and where they are just before the comet hits—ending with them watching it or something (and obviously a kiss)

What if Korra bends it to crash into the earth and used its rock to destroy the four nations and alter them to havens?

Hmm…considering it’s the apocalypse, some people see it as an omen or a signal that the end is near!
