System Failure Sunday Michael should know better. Spoiler

Post image

Michael is old enough to know you should never talk to, or tell your real name to, strangers on the coconut internet. It's a classic scam; someone pretends to be your missing son, and the next thing you know you're being lured into the jungle where you're captured and coerced into killing a couple of people. If only Mr. Eko knew how gullible Michael was, he could have told him he was actually a prince back in Nigeria and needed access to his bank account.

The way Michael smiles as he types in this scene even looks straight up out of a web safety PSA they would run on PBS lmao.

Yeah. He smiles like it's completely normal to start a conversation with an unknown person on a 1970s computer in a mysterious bunker in the middle of a weird Island and he's about to make a new friend.

Why doesn't he ask some personal questions to see if it's actually Walt?

Michael should have asked:

  • What is your mother's maiden name?
  • What is the name of your first pet?
  • What is the name of the street you grew up on?

This is how you can tell the show is from the early 2000s.
