This is why Daniel’s last name is Faraday?! Never put it together until now lol
Very fitting name that I’ve been ignorant to for literal years

Anyone else surprised we never really learned/saw more about him accidently being responsible for killing like 12 people which landed him in Santa Rosa? Figured that would’ve been a highlight in his backstory!

As people had pointed out in other posts before, the beach on the north shore of Oahu where they filmed the losties camp scenes also happens to be a very popular spot for giant Hawaiian green turtles ie Honu to sun bath and sleep IRL.
Hawaii laws require that people stay at least 10 feet (3 meters) away from the turtles. i imagine during filming they work carefully around the turtles which shouldn't be a problem given the length of the beach. For this particular scene i think what happened is that, after they already set up filming crew in the water with cameras rolling, a turtle suddenly popped out of the water and camped out there on that spot. It's way too much work to stop everything and move to a different spot so they decided to bite the bullet and include the turtle in the shot anyway hoping that people would in the blink of an eye think it's a rock or something. Is this the only scene where a turtle made cameo appearance on this show?!

Hi all, been thinking about making a post here for a while, but haven't found the right words, but here goes anyway. On August 26th, my dad, James, passed away. LOST was our show. We watched it from the premiere on ABC all the way to the finale. It was always a special night for us. We'd make a special dinner, and he'd go to 7-11 and get us our special dessert. Hostess cupcakes for him, and mini donettes for me. At the time, my favs were the powdered ones. Or he'd get a slice of chocolate cake from Safeway (or Vons, wherever you are) for us to split in half. We rewatched LOST together several times. Whether renting the DVDs pre-streaming, or whenever and wherever it was available. He even got my uncle and cousin into it, and they now have merch in their gameroom, and have bought my dad and I LOST themed gifts. We watched it again together for the last time earlier this year, and I cried during the finale, because I knew the next time I watched, it wouldn't be with him. I wouldn't get to hear the comments he made every time at his favorite parts, the fake shock he would put on at all the twists, and I wouldn't get to explain the things he forgot, to his excitement. I don't know when I'll be able to watch it again, but I at least got to tell him during our last watch, how much I've enjoyed watching it with him. I want to thank you all, even though I know none of you, for sharing in this amazing show alongside my dad and I. And maybe for your next rewatch, pick up some hostess cupcakes, mini donettes, or a slice of chocolate cake to enjoy. I know my dad would have loved sharing his love of the show with y'all, if he had known how to use reddit. Probably best that he didn't lol. Thank you all again. I'll see my dad in another life, perhaps. 🩵

If the “others” could get off of the island whenever they wanted, why on earth did they not send those kids on the oceanic flight back home to their parents

Lost is the best piece of TV i have ever watched, Holy shit, From the Pilot all the way to the End, Perfection, I've watched Breaking Bad, TWD, Dexter, Sopranos, BCS, and so many more, but i haven't seen a show so consistent, S1 Was So good, S2 even better, S3 was perfect, and so on, the time traveling era was so funny and awesome, Man makes me cry every time i realize i will never experience lost for the first time again. also can we talk about the End? it was perfect.

In the flashback of cost of living episode, Eko, disguised as a priest said he was leaving for London for a mission. Yet when we saw him in earlier flashbacks he was working in Australia under disguise as father Tunde. So presumably at some point after London he moved to Australia somehow. This is fine and not a plot hole per se still why did the writers not have him go to Australia directly which would tie his backstory together?
When Eko brought up London i thought we were getting a future flashback with a connection to Widmore/Eloise/Faraday etc in the UK. We never got that but I suspect the writers had plans for something like that but had to scrap it and leave a loose end after the actor abruptly quit the show.

During the shooting of season 5, a sequence recreating The Purge from season 3 has been filmed, but it is cut from whichever episode it is supposed to for. Ultimately, the whole sequence is unreleased, and never ever been brought up.
Thanks to Mr. Mike Johnson, the man wearing glasses in the front row for this amazing BTS image, making this image to be the only thing we have got from the deleted sequence so far.

Was watching the episode "Meet Kevin Johnson" where in response to Michael surprise that The Others could go back and forth between the island and outside world at will, Tom Friendly mentioned that only "some of them" could do that.
So which members of The Others exactly? It is obviously a major privilege reserved to the inner circle only so that people like Juliet don't escape and not come back. Ben even has the looking glass station secretly jamming signals so clearly he doesn't want most members of the Others to have any contact with the outside world.
We have seen that Richard Ben Ethan (and previously Widmore) would leave the island on a quite regular basis. Tom occasionally. So who else? I imagine Beatrice and Prickett as well as they were part of the others leadership as well. What about Goodwin? He seemed eager to prove his worth including in dangerous infiltration mission that ended up getting him killed. Mikhail perhaps? Anyone from the Temple lol not like they would ever want to leave the island anyway.

What an ending! Heard for a long time that every was dead the whole time and glad that wasn't the case. Seems like Hugo and Ben did a good job running the ship and glad some characters got a happy ending! Anyone have anything I may have missed on my watch to go back and look for?

After Ana Lucia tells the combination to Michael and he shoots her, he stops and says:
Michael: Oh shit, i forgot the combination!
Ana Lucia: ...⚰️

Michael is old enough to know you should never talk to, or tell your real name to, strangers on the coconut internet. It's a classic scam; someone pretends to be your missing son, and the next thing you know you're being lured into the jungle where you're captured and coerced into killing a couple of people. If only Mr. Eko knew how gullible Michael was, he could have told him he was actually a prince back in Nigeria and needed access to his bank account.

I believe it's my fault. I know that.
Having watched Lost episode by episode as it aired from the pilot to the last episode it was, in the end, all my fault.
I spent hours between episodes on forums discussing theories and perhaps spending far to long wondering pointless things regarding the show.
Even as my friends started to jump ship from the show I still believed.
And I think that's why I hated the finale when it aired. I'd built up all these ideas (some my own - some others I'd read online) and I don't think any ending would have satisfied me.
I felt I'd wasted my time. As the years went by I didn't trust another show.
Eventually Breaking Bad gained my trust - and in my view ended perfect.
......a few months ago I decided to rematch Lost. Mainly spurred on by this forum. I wanted to rewatch scenes that I enjoyed, and revisit the characters I'd fallen in love with.
And then I got to season 6.
And.....for most part I enjoyed.
I got to the ending....and...I felt....bet...er....about it.
I think more than anything I enjoyed the ride, as opposed to the destination.
I had no issues with understanding the ending. I think....I think I...I just don't think ANY ending or outcome would have satisfied me.
....what was the point of this post? Oh yeah!
I wanted to say thank you to you all.
The enthusiasm on this sub made me go '....im gonna give it another go.'
And?
I feel at peace now.
So. Thanks.
Stu

I am currently commissioning an artist (tdramaliana) to create a poster of the Lost cast in the style of Total Drama Island. We are just taking each character at a time, I plan on doing Jack and Locke next I think! But this is the update for those who enjoyed the first two :)

Sometimes these call sheets can reveal BTS things that we don't know. For example, the freighter goon whose neck got snapped was named "Arroyo" during shooting, but somehow it changed to "Kokol" in the episode.
I do not own any of these call sheets or images.

The ending had me bawling my eyes out. I waited weeks to watch the finale because everyone told me i would hate it. But I actually loved it. It gave so much closure to everyone after all the pain. And the idea that Hugo and Benjamin looked over the island for a long time made me weirdly happy. Ben got what he wanted, even after all he'd done. All he wanted was to be special and be in the inside group, be the right hand man. When Jack died in the forest I was completely breaking down by then lol. I think the point a lot of people I know missed is that no, they weren't dead the whole show. At least not how I interpreted it. All of that really happened. They were just able to come back together in death. I guess the one thing I was confused about after everything is Kate telling Jack he doesn't have a son. Is that just because he wasn't around his son and never brought him up to the group? Because his son seemed pretty real at the end when he was able to get more closure and be supportive. Such a happy ending. Now I have no idea what to watch next. But anyways. Beautiful ending. I'm kinda upset I let myself be scared away by others opinions. I will say I always thought it should have been Hugo. Out of everyone he was truly the most innocent imo. But I found that I was happy for Jack originally when it was given to him. The fact that he sacrificed himself redeemed any bad qualities in the end. Wow just so much on my mind haha. How did you guys interpret the ending?

Before a mod deletes this post saying it does not relate to LOST read it and see that it does!
There is a new series called The Paper in S1 E5 one of the characters is being catfished as someone pretending to be Josh Holloway (but called something else). Eventually she finds out that he is an actor in a show called LOST and she is not dating him. It’s a cool episode. What is not cool however is a scene where she is watching S3 and venting to Sawyer on screen and her coworker says if it helps I think he’s dead for the whole show… are they serious! Pushing out that false info after all this time, it’s so annoying lol.

I am in my late 30s and was in high school when lost first started. It had aired episode 4 when I gave it a go, binged the first 4 episode in one breath and got hooked for life. Ever since it ended in 2010, I've been rewatching bits of it... and every now and then, when I get the feeling that I can't remember a thing or two, I just rewatch the whole thing again. It's been 15 years and I still find myself engaged as I first was.
When it originally ended, I got this feeling that we all get when we finish a great book/game/show. What to do now?! I was so excited to discuss the entire thing as a whole and was really surprised by the amount of fans who disliked the ending. I found it pleasing and still do and can't really get all the hate around it.
The entire season 6 feels like a perfect goodbye - with all the scenes, music and flash-sideways. I listent to its music more than any other season's.
I guess i just wanted to share with all of the fans that I miss the island, the characters, their convoluted stories, their presence and that I never found another show that had this strong an impact on me. There are other shows I loved, of course, but none are like lost. I know I'll be revisiting in 2-3 years again, to follow the characters on their self-discovery and be recaptured in the magic again.
P.s. yeah, they could've gone without Pablo and Nicki. I agree.

What are some of the moments in Lost that you wish you could experience for the first time again?
Let's move away from the big moments that we all wish we could GO BAAAAACK to. I'm talking small things, like realising that Richard Alpert looked the same age at Locke's birth as he did in the present and getting excited in your theorising about him not aging.
Big moments welcome but I'm interested in some of those small moments/revelations that we wish we could go through for the first time again.

Even though the show gave us a satisfying ending and proper closure for most characters, the finale still has a bit of fan service.
Why isn’t Miles in the church scene? He had direct connections with Sawyer, Juliet, Kate, Jin, and Hurley, and overall he was more tied to the group than Libby, Penny, Shannon, or Boone.
It might sound crazy, but I find it a bit contradictory that Locke is there while some characters are left out. You’ll probably crucify me for this, but Locke didn’t really have strong bonds with most of the group.
And that’s fine—I’m not criticizing the show, because the ending wouldn’t have been the same if it had followed this logic 100%. Can you imagine a finale without Locke? Juliet and Boone hugging even though they never really met doesn’t make that last scene any less emotional. Still, I honestly think Miles should have been there.
