Sayid's bag Spoiler

This isn't really as much of a spoiler as it is something I noticed in the background of a scene. In LAX part 1, at about the 41 minute mark, when the plane lands and everyone is getting their bags from the overhead compartments, I'm wondering if anyone else noticed that when Naveen Andrews (Sayid, if course) puts his bag over his shoulder, he absolutely thwacks a random woman right in the face with the over the shoulder strap of the bag, right in the side of the face. I noticed on like my third re-watch and I'd like to belive that immediately after the director called "cut" that Naveen apologized profusely cause it was a pretty good slap...

QUESTION Can someone explain the ending to me like I’m five? Spoiler

I just don’t really understand it and maybe I’m stupid, I mean I missed so many of the hints and foreshadowing throughout the show that I wouldn’t be surprised if the answer was right in front of me. Which “reality” was real? What are we supposed to take away from the ending?

What do we think happened to all our characters after the show ended? Spoiler

We know Hurley and Ben went on to run the island with Walt in tow. But what happened to Sawyer, Kate and the rest of the guys who left the island?

Claire’s mom

Anyone else wish they could’ve seen Claire’s reaction to finding out her mom was awake and doing well? I mean why even show us her if we never see Claire find out anyway. And why didn’t she ask who Aaron was with on the mainland!!! I feel like they did this multiple times like showed us stuff that I would’ve loved for the characters to find out, like Libby being in the mental hospital with Hugo or John Locke working for the box company that Hugo owned… just little stuff like that

SEASON 6 Who is real in Flash Sideways? Spoiler

Post image
6 Upvotes

So there has always been discussion here about the children and characters like Anthony Cooper and Helen, in the Flash Sideways with the general consensus being that they are not real and exist in this space to help our main characters develop to reach a resolution where they can move on towards the afterlife.

Is everyone who isn’t present in the church in The End, only there in the Flash Sideways for the purpose of assisting with the central characters’ journey towards the afterlife? Anyone who doesn’t experience their own flashback and remembering the island when they reconnect with a person or thing that is significant to them? So this could include Miles for example, he is only there to help Sawyer reach his redemption/resolution etc.? Or Ana Lucia, Charlotte, Faraday (there to help Desmond wake up)? Or is it just that those characters are real but haven’t woken up yet, and remain in the Flash Sideways until they are ready to move on with their own soul group/cohort/people who are important to them?

Exceptions to this theory - Bernard and Rose are there at the end without experiencing their own Flashback moment but we assume this happened before everyone else. Eloise would also be an exception due to her insight and abilities.

Am I the only one who thinks that the smoke dude got John’s first game for him? All he did was carrying it back to the camp.

Character Analysis S1E5 just gets me more and more. I argue it’s the best episode. (Yes I’m heavily biased!) Spoiler

I’ve seen it four times now and I cry every time, maybe more than the first times now that I have the whole story. I think I connect so hard to this episode because everyday I’m gaining more understanding about the effect of my parents on me. My mother was the alcoholic and my dad a gambling addict and they split right before knowing they were pregnant with me. They both continue to disappoint and hurt me and there’s something very heavy about the burden, that even when you finally see and “break free” from their game, there are so many layers of letting go and ways you may still have to hold on. Jack felt he had to take care of his parents until his father died—he couldn’t completely walk away and turn down his mother’s demand. His dad had to do the final worst thing to Jack after a lifetime of letting him down and putting him down. So when he’s in the airport and breaks down about how he needs it to be over… and when he finally takes out his anger when he finds the coffin… all of it. All of the feels!

The journey of Jack moving through grief and stepping into his role, how it was triggered by failure, driven by fear that his father instilled in him… to get to the iconic line of live together die alone… it would maybe be cliche if Mathew Fox didn’t act it so well and the story so accurate to what it’s like to have parents like this. At least, in my experience.

I think Jack really earns/deserves his title of hero. ❤️

FIRST TIME WATCHER Finished for 1st time today 🥺 Spoiler

Obviously I have a ton of questions, but right now I’d like to know y’all’s take on why the characters in the last season during the “sideflash” in LA all remember each other when they touch/meet. For example, when Sawyer is at the vending machine and runs into Juliette. They touch and have the memories of loving each other flood back without questioning anything. I guess I’m confused, because it seems the flash is what “would” happen if they never crashed or were perused by Jacob early in life. Halp!

SEASON 5 Why does Jack wear a suit on Akita 316?

Like this dude knows he’s about to go traipsing through the jungle, shouldn’t he wear something more appropriate for that? Is it because he’s trying to recreate the circumstances of Oceanic 815?

Seems dumb.

Character Question Was there a scrapped storyline with Charlie?

I found a years old post where somebody offhandedly mentioned that Charlie could've possibly been corrupted when he was hung in the same way people like Sayid and members of Rousseau's crew were. I did some searching and didn't seem to find anyone else discussing this theory.

I feel like that would've explained a lot of the sloppy development where he goes dark Charlie on Locke and Sun and then it's all resolved and forgiven by the start of season 3. Developing Charlie in this direction would've forced them to go into explaining the smoke monster and secrets of the island a lot sooner, but then they did a complete 180 and decided to "redeem" Charlie.

I really appreciate how empathetic the show is

Having them all reunite at the end, in the church. Even with characters who weren't around for much, like Boone and Libby. It's a very kind ending for them, and very rewarding for longtime viewers.

Why didn’t they eat the polar bear

It just dawned on me that no one mentioned using the polar bear Sawyer killed for food. Why didn’t they think to eat it?

Who do you think was the happiest character before arriving on the island?

I think it's fair to say that they were all quite unhappy. But who do you believe was the most satisfied with their life?

Or do they ship everything themselves? Or do they not even need to.

SEASON 6 They didnt hear the monster

Isnt it weird, when monster was killing Bram and the Jacobs bodyguards inside of the foot, that people that literally camp in front of the statue, didnt hear monster? Like we could saw that the ceiling in the statue is open air and monster is pretty noisy so how is it possible they didnt hear it?

Rewatch - Henry

I have reached mid season two on our rewatch, and am reminded why Michael Emerson gives me the heebie jeebies even after 20 years and at least three other series. He is so good at being a creepy, manipulative bastard!

QUESTION SPOILERS FOR THE FINALE Spoiler

I finished the show yesterday and there's something im still cloudy about.

If the flash sideways in season 6 are supposed to be some form of purgatory, how are characters like Hurley, Kate, Sawyer, etc in the church if we technically never see them die? Everything ive read says that they're not all dead, idk but its been confusing me. I'm sorry if its a dumb question, and I bet the answer is right in front of me and I just don't understand, but it's just been throwing me off.

GOLDEN PASS: Rewatcher I just finished watching Lost for the 4th time I think...

... and I still think it's the best series of all time, with the perfect ending. I'm still crying as I write this, but unfortunately, I only have the internet to tell you these things because none of my friends are fans of the series. So here I am catharsis with you.

Stay safe and see you on the other side, mates.

Matthew Fox acting intensity saving Charlie "All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues"

Spoiler Alert to newbies watching S1. I gotta say I don't watch LOST much anymore but just enjoyed Jack/Kate saving Charlie scene. What a rare triumphant moment on a show that seldom gives us moments like this. Wowza, from a clinical observation Matthew Fox's artistic range is just unrivaled in that scene He is fully committed to that moment and understandably is a rare talent and why I could never imagine anyone playing Jack Shephard. For me he is the GOAT amongst a great ensemble of complimentary characters. Props to Matthew Fox.

Sayid’s arabic

Just wanted to ask if any other Arabic speakers find Sayid’s Arabic incredibly jarring? This is my second time watching after nearly a decade and I don’t remember it sounding so off lol.

Edit: Seems like little effort was put into a lot of the accents/foreign dialogue. Would have been nice if they had, but the show is so good it doesn’t bother me too much.
