Cunny is often used to talk about lolis and it derives from words cute and funny.

Honestly I thought it was derived from saying the word “cunt” in a childlike manner

It kinda became like that. It was just cute and funny combined, but with people thinking it means like what you did, they end using it as such in doujins and dishes posts. Tbh you kinda have to read the word with context because it's so blanketed now. You can say "cunny 😭" if you see a cute loli, refer to their pussy as cunny, or just call them cunny since they're cute AND funny. I've seen all these uses. But it absolutely does not mean chld pssy that some outsiders think it does
Sorry for the *, I didn't want to use those words together

People don't want to hear it, but this is accurate. The term was in regular use on 4chan as early as 2010, long before the modern incarnation of the whole meme came about. Cute and funny came about as a sfw euphemism for it. I don't know if it's just people that don't know the history being manipulated, or lolicons wanting to obfuscate the dogwhistle, but I'd rather be honest about what the word means. We don't need tourists feeling comfortable.

That's a good point! I think that could be argued but cunny is a blend word and not a slang term. It'd be hard to say cunny means cunt since cunty already exists.

Something in the English community that mentions "cuteness" and all of that. Mostly used with "lolis" and its standard emoji: 😭.
I'm not too much into that but that's my guess.

A loli is a body type that uses moe proportions. It doesn't have anything to do with age as you can have adult lolis and non loli children. It just that more anime children fall into loli category
Edit: saw that you edited your post and it basically stated what I said but wanted to add you're correct about the drawing a loli and drawing a child are not the same. It strays away from moe aesthetics and into realism

Not exaaaaactlyyy… Loli as a term (probably?) comes from “Lolita” book, in which the main heroine is 12. So puberty teen basically.
So it’s of course not pre-puberty kid, but still an early-teen.
What you described is called “petite body”, if talked about adult mostly…

You're not wrong, loli does come from Lolita but loli does not originate from the french book. It's from Japanese Lolita which is a fashion style. It eventually got boiled down to loli. I think it was actually rori which was short for the Japanese word rorita, but tbh I'm not to familiar with how to went from Japanese sites to English speaking ones. Idk if the Japanese took the word from the French book Lolita however. But loli did not directly come from the book Lolita
It's probably something that has gotten lost in translation, but the modern term falls more into my original comment, especially when it comes to character design and understanding what makes a character a loli

No, it literally has to do with the age of the characters. ^^;
"Gothic Lolita" is something entirely different.
The discussion of it dealing with body type and such is pretty new.
The term has been in use at least as long as the world wide web has been a thing.
