SCLC - Hospice time
My mother (73F) was diagnosed with extensive SCLC in May, treated with chemo/immuno for 3 months and unfortunately has had rapid progression with new spread to the brain. She has opted for hospice and we began that this week. She is at peace, but as a caregiver I am curious for anyone who’s been through SCLC with loved ones, how long did they last on hospice?
I know everyone is different and it’s based on the patient, I am just looking for your experiences.

My cousin's mom-in-law was diagnosed with sclc at a time when her Alzheimer's was beginning to cause her problems. It was decided that allowing her to die from the cancer was the most benign option. My memory is imperfect here but I think she lasted about 6 weeks- it may have been 4 weeks.

Thank you. I’m sorry for your loss. Dementia is a terrible process. I hope she was peaceful in the end 🤍

It was peaceful for her and hospice did a marvelous job of keeping her comfortable.

My husband (58) passed on hospice after 5 days last December. From day of diagnosis until his passing was only 6 months. Still can’t believe it.

This is not a personal experience, but in New York State, one would not qualify for hospice unless prognosis is within 6 months.
Hang in there OP
