Very clean, but why the Magic Mouse for the Mac?

I use both on the Mac. The Magic Mouse is sometimes so much better than any other mouse. Yes, even better than the MX Master.

Seriously? Tried to hold one but felt really uncomfortable, the mx master is the perfect mouse imo

I wish apple would release something with similar ergonomics

I hate the magic mouse but it is really good at scrolling in any direction you want while still being a mouse. (diagonally/horizontally)

I loath the MX Master. It is highly overrated. Poor quality materials and the software for it is buggy as all hell. I prefer the G Pro X Superlight 2 Dex for all uses on my PC and general use on my Mac.

For zipping around macOS, image/video editing, power usage, or for when I don’t want to deal with the limitations that comes from a traditional mouse –for me– the Magic Mouse is unmatched on macOS.

I gave the MX Master the good ol’ college try, which is why I switched to the G Pro X Superlight and more recently the Dex. I doubt many Magic Mouse haters can say the same.

If you’re willing to give the Magic Mouse an actual honest chance, I would suggest using these for better ergonomics.

Tbh the mx master 3 is my second mouse ever

First one was also from logitech but it was a gaming mouse and I got the mx because my hand started to hurt from using the gaming mouse during college so the mx master fixed that problem and now it never hurts

When I went to an apple store to use a magic mouse I thought it was too small and felt uncomfortable, didn’t know there accessories for the magic mouse

Might get one for my wife since her hands are smaller and give it another go, thanks for sharing!

It honestly isn’t for everyone. But far too many people hate on it without actually using it long term. I used the MX Master for about a year. Then I swapped to the G Pro X, and about a week ago I pulled the trigger on the Dex since it went on sale. But I’ve had several Magic Mice since I got my first iMac back in 2011 with my first ever tax return. I recently also purchased the new USB-C version. I have had every version of the Magic Mouse. It’s honestly a great mouse, though it does take a little getting used to.

I find your experience really interesting. Do you ever feel its too small or has it caused hand pain during long periods of use?

No not really. I have average to above average hand size and I don’t have any issues using the Magic Mouse, especially with the grips. My hand does start to cramp up using any mouse for long periods of time. Though I do often over do it and work/play for 6+ hours straight without proper rest. So I might not be the best person to ask. Then again, I might be, given the fact that I can go that long using either mouse and not have to stop because of pain or discomfort.

I'm curious on how your PC, Mac, and Monitor are cabled to the CalDigit?

1

u/DefiantRedditor_ 6d ago edited 6d ago

They are not. The Caldigit dock is exclusive to the Mac. The display is connected to both the Mac and PC via a DisplayPort KVM. One button press and the display, keyboard, mic, and mouse switch over.

Not sure what kind of work you do, but have you ever tried or pondered…can you share your iPad as a drawing/whiteboard pad while on Teams/WebEX? Not sure if that’s a continuity feature, or possible.

u/DefiantRedditor_ 8d ago

I’ve thought about it but have not looked into it. Unfortunately my job is fully windows so an iPad in that environment is a no go. :(

Drats. I was curious before getting too invested. lol

On teams I would love to draw basic things for people who don’t seem to hear with their ears. :)

Give this a try

  1. Connect iPad to Mac via cable
  2. Open QuickTimePlayer on Mac, start a new movie recording and set source as iPad. This starts showing iPad screen on MBP
  3. Share QTP on your Webex, Zoom, Meet etc.
  4. Open GoodNotes (or any app) on iPad and start drawing

This is not useful for collaboration. However, you can broadcast your virtual 'whiteboard'

What desk is this please 🙏 I’ve been looking for one for my IMac that gives enough space for typing, studying, and reading…

It’s an Autonomous standing desk that I’ve put the legs together really close to have the drawers under the desk on either side, as I like my desk low to the ground. This particular model they don’t sell anymore. It was called the SmartDesk Pro.

The new Nuphy Air75 V3.

How is the 2.4Ghz on it?

1

u/DefiantRedditor_ 5d ago

It’s great! I briefly had the v2 before I bought the v3 and its dongle gave me a bit of grief. But the 3 has been perfect so far.

1

u/Reckless5040 4d ago

Well shit I need that then lol. I have a v2 and that's my only gripe with it.

1

u/DefiantRedditor_ 4d ago

Yeah, I lucked out. I bought the v2 from amazon and then found out the v3 was going to ship in July. Put in my order, waited until my return window dwindled to 2 days, then waited for about a week for the v3 to get to me. The silent switches are orgasmic to use. :D
