Some old screenshots from the MAG days. From my memory this was one of the first clan battles that we managed to organise between some of the larger ones. Unfortunately the only one that I have found screenshots for.

What I remember of these two matches were that very controversially we (3C) got the luck of the draw and ended up on defense twice on the Valor Sabotage map which was heavily defensive favoured, so although at the time I would have never admitted it I don't think the results were fully representational.

I do remember that VL$ definitely got at least one of the two first objective but I don't think they ever quite managed to get both simultaneously to get to the final objective - though I could be wrong in remembering what a minor vicotry entails.

The other memory was that our tactic was that we had a single squad of our best players on one of the objectives, while the other objective had the bulk of the team with the other 3 squads in it.

Also from memory somehow DeathByChair got in behind us all into our final point and was being a classic DeathByChair pain.

Would love to hear if anyone else has memories or was in the games or other clan battles.

These days we’re the best. Pretty sure I disconnected trying to get into this game. Can’t remember exactly. Maybe just couldn’t play that night. Matches vs AIR & Dark Flock were just epic.

I still remember the behind the scenes planning on 3C website with Jumpman and Ajax before we faced both clans. It’s absurd that we had to go to such lengths to even make these matches happen and that they weren’t even possible until late stages of MAG. Felt like an all-star game putting together squads of ARx guys and OG 3C guys and then seeing random awesome players trying to jump in on both sides.

Nothing compares to this game for me. Between the community and the game itself, on another level!

I remember some players saying they heard directly from MizzSmartyPants that the clan battle system was fully in place and ready to go live, but either Zipper managment or Sony (not sure if who was ever specified) wouldn't let them turn it on. If they'd leaned into the esport angle, rather than clinging to the unrealistic "tactical simulator" concept and half-baked attempt at a live service game, I think the game would have done a lot better. Zipper might even still exist today in that scenario.

Yeah I don't think I have screenshots from those matches, only these ones and a bunch of other random ones where I had some big scores in pubs.

I was slappadabassmon ringing for VL$. That copper hills match was brutal, but I was happy I went positive lol.

Was never a big fan of most of the valor clans and players. A few good ones, but for the most part they weren’t very good against good players. Plus when it came time for clan battles it was half ringers who didn’t give a shit about winning.

All the players who really cared about K/D were on sver for the DMG or raven for the rate of fire. I remember switching from SVER to join VL$ and I felt like I was at a disadvantage with the "balanced" weapons

For me that was also part of the fun of switching through to the other factions, still putting up big numbers despite the perceived disadvantages.

Also the fun like you say switching to then go and play for another clan like VL$ or <3

Yeah man I started Raven and played with flock, then STB on SVER and VL$ until the servers went down. Goddamn I miss it. Even back when we had to supergroup, it was to this day the most fun I've had in an fps.

Good times with 3C before Sithis went and ran everybody off because he didn’t know how to be mature. Even followed them to Resistance 3 afterwards before Ben and I left.

Yoo, definitely remember your name. Interesting, I don't really remember what happened to everyone. I was there from the start of 3C having played with jumpman in Resistance 2 and then moved with Socom 4 and then Resistance 3. So I sort of missed the end of MAG and everything else.

From what I remember A LOT of people fell off of MAG and didn’t do anything else. Some went with 3C to Socom 4 before going to Resistance 3 and the rest just went straight to Resistance 3. Sithis more or less acted like an ass and ruined the 3C name. So everyone left at some point after.

I still had a handful of people on my friends list, but only played BF3 with one of them who then just ghosted everyone. The rest I lost touch with after some fundamental differences popped up in society. The absolute last association I had with someone from 3C was in 🤢BF 2042🤮

It’s a shame because 3C was an absolute powerhouse of talent in many aspects.

I literally quit playing console after MAG. Never could find something I really liked or cared about. Lost touch with all 3C/ARx guys after that.

I was pretty similar, played Socom 4, Resistance 3 and then some Battlefield 3 and moved to PC.

I think the fall off for me and I assume a lot of other people was the PS3 hack and PSN being down for the extended amount of time, and in the meantime playing other games.

All super interesting to read about but yeah it really did lose momentum and never really properly continued into any other game which is a shame.

Then you deleted everyone and fell off the face of earth.. lmao

If you read my post, you would know that you and the other guy fall under “lost touch with after some fundamental differences popped up in society.” Couldn’t in good conscience remain friends.

K/D was just a part of the community and was rampant on all sides. The MAG forums had all the talk of K/D, grims over hours, purple hearts, and silver bullets which did influence many people and the way they played. It was always comical how often, especially in domination, you’d see some “elite” clan member with no purples, but sitting at 29 deaths.

The MAG forums were great and something we’ll never see again with a gaming community. 💔

I do remember there being so much shit talk on the forums, though I only ever really occasionally read them here and there and didn't really partake in the shit talk storms that frequently happened.
