Annual Spotlight: u/bikisser2- "Background Mix"
Another spotlight from this year goes out to u/bikisser2 who created a whole library of smooth Jazz to keep you floating through the day. With over 5,600 tracks stretching past 24 hours, this playlist feels less like a quick mix and more like a full archive of sound. It leans instrumental for the most part, but with plenty of variety such as, David Sanborn’s “Goodbye” and MF DOOM’s “Coffin Nails”, which shows how far the definition of jazz can stretch. Artists such as Michael Lington and Brian Hughes make multiple appearances, giving the collection a sense of depth and familiarity as it shifts between soulful horns, wandering guitar notes, and breezy rhythms. It’s the kind of playlist you can leave on all day, moving effortlessly from one mood to the next without breaking flow.
