Question Rapper

Kinda just curious if anyone has some things I should keep in mind when producing a song. I focus on words too much so just little tips maybe even.

The hits are simple. I’d focus on lyrics first, don’t try to make an ‘amazing’ beat. If you struggle too much work with a producer don’t delay your progress trying to do it all yourself that’s my tip.

Ight what if you cant find a producer you fuck with, so you get beats online and your concern is the final touches,

Ex. Ad libs or sound effects? Like environmental sound that brings the beat and the lyrics into one whole thing, rather than a dude raping on a beat?

Other buddy said keep it simple which I'll keep in mind but I think it's an area I need to look at.

Yea you could buy the beats you like and add sound effects and pauses to the beat at certain parts to make it fit better with the lyrics, it’s not that hard to do. I would tell you to learn how to record yourself, vocal chains, etc. But if it’s still too much trouble you could find a producer in your city to help you record and mix your vocals. The big names usually get beats from one producer that they never even met in person and then go to a studio and have their ‘guy’ who records their vocals and mixes the whole thing.

Forget adlibs and all that extra stuff sidechain and make your vocals sit well over the beat nothing to it but to do it

The K.I.S.S. Method. Keep it simple enough to keep the focus on your rap and flow
