It's a an argument about money basically and that the landlord should give them the deposit back and if the tenants don't like it they can leave. And a bunch of swearing and insults too.

It's ironically a bastardisation of the word ''bastard'' . Many maltese say it as ''basted'' because when we were a british colony for almost 200 years their soldiers used to say it with their english accent. So some or certain maltese say it the wrong way.

painful watch indeed especially the last 30sec monologue! For the benefit of the non Maltese speakers it seems that the tenant paid the rent plus deposit (not clear if a contract was signed) but the landlord refused to accept them as it seems they are from Nepal (or at least one) and according to the landlord they are dirty people!
