What's the most bizarre situation you've encountered recently?

I'll start. Got stuck in a queue behind two Americans confronting a bemused cashier, who were demanding to know where the bottled water had come from.

This was in Hamrun btw. We only drink brake fluid here

In Mellieha yesterday, saw a farmer driving his pickup truck with an open Skol can in the cup holder right next to him. The cup holder was not between the front seats but right next to the driver's window. Pretty much sums up the general attitude towards DUI here, I guess.

That is pretty standard for a lot of people driving here. I've seen it too many times, especially people working on the construction sites.

Technically, with a can of beer, you won’t be over the permissible alcohol limit. It’s a matter of perspective. Same as having a mobile phone attached to the windshield. You are not holding the phone but you are ‘kind of’ using it.

This afternoons a bus driver stop right in the middle of a roundabout, get out to pick up a pair of sneakers from the sidewalk, put them on the bus, and then just drive off.

I saw a guy reverse at speed out of a street backwards into a the street running perpendicular to it. A bolt driver hooted at him as he took avoiding action. The bolt driver drove away. The guy who was reversing, got out of his car, "ran" 5 meters and started shouting in Maltese and waving his fist at the bolt drover for like 10 seconds.

The bolt driver did nothing wrong. He was the one who avoided the accident because the fat guy in the Audi was reversing at speed into another street. The bolt driver kept going. Windows tinted, couldn't tell if there was a passenger in the back or not.

Waiting for the elevator in greens mreihel car park. (There is only one public floor of carparking) and the guy pushed the "down" button. When I asked him why he hit down, he said it was to call the elevator to him......

We both went up

That's how they work though. Also the more you press the buttons the faster the lift gets to you.

This mansplaining stuff is hard work

No its not. You press the button where you are going. If youre going up you press up, irrelevant where the elevator is

I was telling a friend who was visiting how bad the driving is here. As soon as I finished my sentence, a car that was attempting to parallel park smashed right into the car parked car the behind the open space, then casually turned around and drove away.

Had some euro tourist and a Maltese guy openly talk loudly on the route 3 bus, When it got to bormla he was talking abt how the Maltese used to throw garbage in the streets and her reaction was "Yes because you are very close to Arabs im sorry to say but you are"
