It's hard to hate this country (outside of politics and a select few people).

Hey everyone,
Weāre a small local startup just getting our foot in the door with smart home setups. To kick things off, weāre offering a 30% discount on labour and software setup while we build up our experience and portfolio.
Basically, if youāve ever wanted to: ⢠turn your lights on/off with your phone, ⢠get alerts if a door/window opens, ⢠monitor your electricity use in real time, ⢠automate your AC or heating so you donāt waste energy, ⢠or even set up little āroutinesā like lights dimming + music starting in the eveningā¦
ā¦we can set it all up for you. Everything is fully custom, and youāll be able to control it all from one app, whether youāre home or abroad.
Weāre not some big company charging crazy prices ā just a couple of people who are into this stuff and want to make smart homes more accessible in Malta. The discount is our way of saying thanks to anyone whoās willing to give us a shot while weāre still getting established.
If youāre curious, drop a comment or DM and we can chat about whatās possible.
Genuine question here. Im living and working in Malta, I am not Maltese. But from living here from my experience Maltese people are a mix of a lot of different cultures , the language is mostly Arabic mixed with Italian and other influences. For me at least when I arrived I saw Maltese people as like Arab Italians, sorry if that is an insult to some. But I mean in language and looks and the architecture and look of the country reminds me of a mix of Arabic countries and Italy. I mean that in a good way. But then I hear of some people putting posters telling Arabs to go back to there country , return schemes, etc. and it made me wonder. If those people are anti Arab. What are they? Are they not half Arab themselves?

Hi all,
I have 3 cats and Iām trying to figure out a vaccination schedule. Iāve asked a few vets already, but opinions differ, so I thought Iād ask here as well!
Some vets recommend yearly boosters (like NoviCat Trio or what itās called). Others have suggested that a 2ā3 year schedule could also be sufficient.
I know most people would say ājust give it yearly to be safe,ā and honestly, thatās what Iāve been doing so far. But looking at it from a different perspective: all 3 cats are really stressed by the vet and being outdoorsāthey can stay anxious for hours or even days afterwards. On top of that, they donāt exactly āstay stillā during the injection; one cat even moved while being vaccinated once, and I felt awful about it and Iāve felt the pain myself! So if thereās a safe way to avoid yearly stress, Iād like to consider it.
Iām not asking for medical advice (unless youāre a licensed vet), but Iād love to hear your insights: what do you do with your cats? How do you handle vaccinations, and what schedule do you follow? What risks are in Malta if Iād skip vaccinations altogether?
Thanks in advance!
P.s. Until I get a concrete and sure opinion with reasoning and backed by a professional I will keep the yearly schedule. I am not asking this out of neglect, or being stingy.

Does anyone know where I can buy here here on the island? Been buying it in the uk whenever I travel but the prices are insane now.
I looked up ways to reconstitute it myself but I am not willing to do that unless there is none on the island I could buy. Heard that some prices here in the island are 400+ euros which is insane.

I get the sense from this sub that Valleta is noise-polluted thanks to partying tourists and badly-insulated accommodation. As a sound sensitive person, itās really put me off my original plan of visiting in October. But can anyone confirm or deny this? Or does anyone have any peaceful recommendations?

Hi all,
I am planning to visit Malta in October, how is the cockroach / pest situation this year and in particular how does it usually look like in the beginning of October?
Thanks!

Hey everyone,
Iām a 2nd year Game Development student here in Malta (4-year course). With the current struggles and uncertainty in the video game industry, Iāve been considering moving into the iGaming sector as a Game Developer. Honestly, shifting from video games into a more technical field like iGaming actually feels like it could suit me better.
For context, I know C++ and Iām pretty solid with Unity. Do you think iGaming could be a good long-term career path here in Malta? And if so, how would you recommend I approach it like what skills should I focus on, what kind of roles exist for someone with my background, and how can I make myself stand out?
Appreciate any insights!

I've been hearing a lot of rumours as of late about Sac like is it true that some people are paid into SAC? so does that mean that the point system is made up? And there's actually stupid people? Overall whats your take on this , if you know anything about this.

Coming to Malta a little before my long term let begins. What sites are best for finding a place to rent for anywhere between 2-6 weeks until I begin my long term lease?
Thanks

Hello,
Im coming to Malta for the first time, for a week. I read and looked for every beaches and attractions so we'll adjust to visit most of them. We'll be on the edge of san gwann, is there anything we should look about, how's the city, neighborhood? One friend really dont like insects, should we worry about cockroaches or something similar, we are on ground floor, and if yes how to prevent it. Paper money or Phone pay?
All advices are helpful. Thank you in advance.

Hello!
I'll be visiting Malta in the end of September and I'll be there for 8 days.
How much money (ballpark) would I need for these 8 days? I'm staying at friend's place so I'm not paying for accomodation, just the tourist sites entrances, public transport, probably a Bolt too. Bars, occasionally eating out at some less fancy places, also we're thinking of renting a car (3 of us) for 3-4 days of the trip
Also, if you have any recommendations or hidden gems to visit please drop them down!
Thank you ;)

Does anyone know if the duty free shop at the airport sells Pueblo rolling tobacco (or American Spirit, which is doubtful)?
Thank you in advance!
