We (m&f, 40) moved to Manchester recently (Ancoats) and it’d be great to meet some more people, especially if you’re in a similar boat.

Is there any recommendations for meetup groups or similar to meet people with similar interests?

I play guitar and produce some music (original and covers) that would fun to collaborate on if anyone here is keen to play music or sing (being any good is totally optional). Also happy to teach some guitar if you’re looking to learn or get unstuck with your own playing.

Other interests: Pub sessions, cooking, music, dogs, hiking, exploring the city, games like shuffleboard / escape rooms, travel.

Generally just building a community of pub-going sound people would be great!

There's an offical discord forr the reddit that has meetups.

There's also meetup.com which is good for interest-specific events.

Getting down to some music open-mics might be a good idea for you?

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any card boxes that they don’t need. I am moving at the end of the month abroad and trying to find some. Otherwise where could I ask? I live in the city centre.

The larger supermarkets used to give them out if you asked or even sometimes just have piles for people to take, but not sure if that's still a thing. Nearest large supermarket to the city centre is probably Sainsbury's on Regent Road, or ASDA on the Princess Parkway?

If you live in a big block of flats you might want to ask on the Facebook group or similar for the building, people are always moving in and out of those places and might have some boxes they've just used for moving
