Every time I ordered a pint of boddies in the 1990s ruddy faced men would materialize telling me it's crap compared to how it was before Whitbread took over. Is this the pre Whitbread recipe?

To be fair, it wasn't as good as the original (pre-1989) brew.

Not sure if the new one is using the original or the Whitbread version.

Just found a post on Facebook and it does appear to be the Whitbread cream of Manchester Melanie Skyes era.

I've never had a pint of J W Lees I've enjoyed to be honest. Always found it tepid with a bit of an unpleasant aroma. its alright when you are already 7 pints in and will drink any alcoholic beverage whatsoever.
