New birdwatching group in Manchester!

https://linktr.ee/madbirders

Hi everyone, just thought I would drop this in here. I’m looking to gauge interest in a new birdwatching group based in Manchester. We will be looking to run walks, events, and the occasional away day further afield, all with a birdy theme!

The group is aimed at younger adults, but everyone of all experience levels is welcome. The walks will be led by an experienced ornithologist so there will be plenty of opportunity to learn how to ID new species/calls/song/behaviours from each other.

Our (very new) Instagram handle is ‘mad.birders’, which will be the main communication method, but I’ve attached a link to all our stuff to this post.

Any questions/suggestions are welcomed, so please don’t hesitate to message me or leave a comment. Thanks for reading!

You should look at what Flock Together has been able to do in London, both in terms of giving under-represented people a safe space for birdwatching, and in terms of driving the interest of young adults in ornithology.

Yep, Ollie and Nadeem have done some great work and I’m a big admirer. Part of the inspiration for this project!
