Finding an admin type job in Manchester//Using agencies

Hii, I don’t know exactly where to ask this so I’m coming here since it’s my local. I’m a bachelors graduate looking for a job the work experience history of a newborn baby. I’m based in Manchester, I’m trying to find some sort of job that doesn’t require standing and walking, so likely an office or admin kind of job where I can work part time. I’m wondering whether I can sign up with agencies to have better chances of finding a job. What I wanted to ask is, do you guys know any Manchester based agencies that signing up with will help? Thank you 🫶

Is there anywhere in Manchester I can use Power Tools.

I have a Bass Guitar and I need to sand the headstock. It would be best done with a Sander and a Jigsaw. I have neither of these things! Is there somewhere you can go and pay to use these sorts of things?

Gym with a sense of community?

Hey. Just moved to Pendlebury. It's in the Salford borough. I'm wondering if there are any gyms with good equipment but also you get a sense of community? Is this even possible? The general Salford area or Manchester city centre are both workable for me.

New birdwatching group in Manchester!

Thumbnail linktr.ee
20 Upvotes

Hi everyone, just thought I would drop this in here. I’m looking to gauge interest in a new birdwatching group based in Manchester. We will be looking to run walks, events, and the occasional away day further afield, all with a birdy theme!

The group is aimed at younger adults, but everyone of all experience levels is welcome. The walks will be led by an experienced ornithologist so there will be plenty of opportunity to learn how to ID new species/calls/song/behaviours from each other.

Our (very new) Instagram handle is ‘mad.birders’, which will be the main communication method, but I’ve attached a link to all our stuff to this post.

Any questions/suggestions are welcomed, so please don’t hesitate to message me or leave a comment. Thanks for reading!

Looking for gym recommendations

I am looking for a gym to join. I live near the Trafford Centre and work in Cheadle Heath so anywhere around or in between there is ideal (prefer closer to Cheadle Heath as I will be going to the gym before work so makes travel easier after).

I am looking for a gym that is not to busy at 6-7:30am, with a pool and sauna area. I would also like a spa where I can pay for a massage if possible, a bar or eating area would also be nice but I'm not too fussed about that. My budget is around £70-80 per month.

So far I have seen waterside gym near Parrs Wood. Anyone been there? Any other recommendations?

Clubs in manchester

Are there any clubs that play white girl music or something of that sort ? I’ve been out in manchester about 12 times so far and every single place we go in just plays Britpop music. Britpop music is my favourite genre but i’m getting sick of hearing the same 40 songs on repeat in the places i go. We usually end up in 42s and factory, the typical two. Need something to refresh my image of manchetser nightlife in my head.

Does anybody know of any places that play white girl music or my other preference is dance music.

Big bucket of them at the Odeon cinema upstairs in the Trafford Centre. The cleaning lady stood next to it said that following a recent promotion they'd ordered 6,000 packets instead of 600. Told us to take as many as we could carry.

THG ingenuity - Just stay away from this company

This is a post to warn people valuing their own mental health and career to never working with THG.

  1. The worst workplace i have ever been a part of
  2. Do not join any of their divisions
  3. The managers are incompetent and are unable to handle a team of juniors who are equally incompetent.
  4. The management people will show you a big picture of the company's future, but the fact is it will close doors soon because of a simple reason, they just dont know how to run a company and manage people.
  5. People who cant find jobs anywhere else can be found here.
  6. The clueless management can throw you out or create situations to make you leave.

Just stay away!

City Centre City Centre Long Term Parking

My favourite car park (NCP Gould street) has stopped the 7 day and 30 day parking options meaning it’s now costs a fortune to park there long term. Other local car parks have also stopped long term parking tariffs

Looking for car park near the northern quarter. Any ideas where you can park for £50 month or less?

Recommendations for places to try on jeans?

Hello everyone,

I've been looking to buy some new men's jeans for a while now, but I'm having difficulty finding a place in or near downtown Manchester where I can actually try on anything to get a sense of size differences from my home country. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance for your help!

Edit: For those coming after me seeking the same knowledge, I went to the Arndale Center and hit up Levi's and GAP (which is in a store called NEXT). GAP had everything I needed. I was able to try on different fits and figure out that while I'm probably a Slim 28S, I can live with a Slim 30S. Looks like most jeans are sized by waist size, fit, and you'll see an R or S which seems to indicate Regular length (proportional to waist size?) and Short length (about 2in shorter in length than R). Hope this helps people in the future.

Why do we never have air shows around Manchester?

I remember going to Barton Air show a few times as a kid and it was so exciting. We have nothing like that any more...the nearest air shows being Blackpool or Southport.
