Help! What are these grayish blue splotches on the leaves of my maple tree?

I read online it could be aphids or some other infestation… if that’s the case, what would be a good remedy?

If it is aphids, then a non-invasive species that eats aphids, whichever that would be for where you live. Eg. releasing ladybirds (if they are a variety native to the location!)

Necrotic tissue. Does overspray from a sprinkler head hit it?

Really? No, no overspray from a sprinkler, though when it’s watered, we’re not particularly careful about being under/over the leaves
