Barefoot puts the feet in their most natural stance position as well as provides maximal tactile and proprioceptive feedback, forcing the foot intrinsic muscles to engage to fully support the arch during weight bearing.

Yeah, but it’s a gym where people move heavy stuff around, not to mention the bacteria😭 idk I just thought it was odd since there’s a lot of signs saying shoes are required

It's a gym. You might see things like this.

It really isnt. You're just uncomfortable, and that's ok. Just know, going to a gym, you may see feet.

I don’t see anything wrong. Barefoot is good for your feet and provides stability. And if you didn’t know: You can wash your feet just like you can wash any other part of the body ^

I feel like I’m so misunderstood in this comment section, like I understand flat feet are good for lifting but I’ve never seen anyone fully barefoot/no socks on in a public place😭 maybe it’s a cultural thing? Like people aren’t barefoot here in Sweden, like ever, other than when going swimming etc. Anyhow I’m more so concerned about fungi and stuff, and the fact that people are walking around with heavy weights that can easily flatten a foot

You won’t get fungi when you are barefoot in a dry place. The chance is way higher when you are in a damp area where lots of people walk barefoot like a public pool.
