LG Smart Monitor Swing

We’re excited to team up with LG to bring a unique opportunity to the r/Monitors community.

LG has launched a new smart monitor with an iconic moving stand: the LG Smart Monitor Swing. The LG Smart Monitor Swing is unlike anything we’ve seen — an ultra-flexible 32" 4K UHD display with a fully articulating ergonomic arm that pivots, rotates, extends, and swings into nearly any position. It’s not just another desk monitor either. This thing feels more like a lifestyle screen — great for productivity during the day, then you can just swing it over for movies, gaming, or whatever at night. The stand is the real star here, because it turns a regular 4K panel into something way more versatile and fun to use.

And here’s the cool part: we’ll be selecting a few Redditors to receive one for free in exchange for an honest, thoughtful review — right here on r/Monitors.

How to enter:

  1. Submit the Google Form

  2. Leave a comment below the post

Comment below with how you would use this monitor in your setup. We’ll be selecting users based on the thoughtfulness of their use case, variety, and authenticity — not just upvotes. We really want to hear what you all think, so every comment (even replies) will be considered, not just top-level comments. So feel free to discuss with other users, would you use it in a similar way as them or do you have additional ideas? Those comments will count!

What we're looking for:

We'd love to hear how you would use the new LG Smart Monitor Swing, including but not limited to:

  • Creative work (photo/video editing, music production)
  • Home office or ergonomic needs
  • Coding
  • Gaming setups
  • Cozy streaming hub (content streaming with webOS)
  • Accessibility-focused setups
  • Multi-use or space-constrained environments

You don’t need to be an influencer or tech YouTuber — just a Redditor with a real use case and a story to tell. With such a unique product, we look forward to hearing all the ways it can improve your workflows, entertainment experiences, and more!

Discussion KTC HDR1400 showing “DisplayHDR 1000” on-screen? Owners please check

Post image
7 Upvotes

I just got my KTC monitor (M27T6 / N26T6), and I noticed something odd.

On KTC’s site and even on the official VESA database this model is listed as DisplayHDR 1400 certified. But when I first turned on the monitor and tried adjusting brightness, I got a pop-up that said “VESA Certified DisplayHDR 1000” (screenshot attached).

Now I’m a bit confused. Is this just a generic on-screen notice, or does it mean the monitor is only HDR1000 in practice? 🤔

KTC owners — could you try checking on your monitors and see if you get the same message? I think it might only show up the first time when adjusting brightness (maybe after a factory reset you can trigger it again).

Would appreciate if anyone can confirm whether theirs says HDR1000 or HDR1400 on that initial message.

Discussion Uneven Colors on LG Gram 16MQ70 from eBay- Prior Damage Likely?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I bought an LG Gram 16MQ70 on eBay and am impressed with the resolution, but immediately noticed that color uniformity is uneven in the top-center-right of the screen. Am I right to assume that this is damage from prior pressure impact or a flaw with the panel that cannot be fixed?

I'm a bit disappointed because the monitor is otherwise amazing, but the uneven color is driving me crazy.

Found a marketplace listing for this LG 45GS96QB for just $650. I didn’t even bargain because I couldn’t believe the price. Drove for 3 hours to pick it up.

Total time in the settings showed 8 hours. Previous owner just gave it out because he didn’t have time to play games.

Discussion Choosing a monitor seems impossible.

Upvotes

So to start off I have a 27”Msi 144hz monitor 1080p. This monitor looks terrible I’ve owned it for 6 years and anyone who ever looked at it wondered why it looked so high contrast. I’ve messed with the settings on the monitor and in windows. The colours are terrible and overall it’s time to upgrade as I ordered a 5090 pc. So this Leeds me to a decision, I want a bigger monitor then what I have and so I wanted to know what might be better for fps and survival games. Option 1 32” 4K 240hz Oled. Option 2 34” 1440p 240hz Oled. Option 3 45” 5K 160hz/1080p 330hz setting. I have no idea if going more then 32” is really worth it I’m not that competitive for fps games and just enjoy playing them. If anyone has a better idea as to what monitor I should go for give me some ideas.

Discussion Choosing between two LG ultrawide monitors for programming – 8-bit vs 8-bit + FRC

Upvotes

I'm looking at two ultrawide monitors: LG 34WP65CP (8-bit + FRC) and LG 34WR55QK (8-bit, Type-C). I’ll mainly use it for work, programming, reading, and web browsing. Graphics/video use is minimal.

Would the 10-bit (8+FRC) make a noticeable difference, or is it not worth it for these tasks?

Discussion What monitor should I buy with a budget of 300 euros

Upvotes

Hi, I was looking for a monitor for a PS5. I mainly play games like Apex, R6, Warzone and AAA games like Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, Cyberpunk and I would like to know which monitor to get. At first I had seen the LG UltraGear 27GS60QC then a friend of mine advised me to get the Samsung Odyssey G7 saying that I could simply lower the quality from 4K to 2K when I would have had to play games like Warzone to get more fps. and raise it for AAA games but now I'm undecided and I don't know which of the two is better or there are better options to evaluate that won't break the budget. In terms of quality I would prefer a 4k but even a 2k is fine for the hz I would only need 144hz having a ps5 for the type of panel an ips And for the reaction time 1ms

Here are the links of the two monitors: Odyssey G7:https://amzn.eu/d/7s4FYxE LG UltraGear 27GS60QC:https://amzn.eu/d/1OJyyX4

Another precaution in my country the odyssey g7 costs €280 while the LG UltraGear 27GS60QC costs €160

Discussion Help with choosing, I can only have one

Upvotes

So i am in dilemma and need help choosing between MSI MAG 244f and AOC Q24G4RE.

Both monitors came out this year and are budget monitors for good value.

MSI MAG 244f -23.8 inch -1080p -200hz -low input latency -IPS -110 euro

AOC Q24G4RE -23.8 inch -1440p -180hz -low input latency -IPS -150 euro

I have a medium rig that runs most games well and i am looking for a 23.8 inch monitor mostly. Is it worth paying little extra for the 1440p or is the 200 hz much better value.

Discussion Ultrasync U3425WE - Beware!!!

Upvotes

This is my *second* U3425WE - and it is a monitor being sold at approx 1000USD/950EUR.

The first one, was purchased December 2024. Lived on happily for the first 5 months, only to blow a USB/KVM board (in front of my eyes) when switching from TB4 input to HDMI. After this mini explosion (smoke came out, thankfully no flames!) I contacted Dell Support. They created a service ticket ✔️ and they asked some photo proof. Two weeks later, new monitor arrived. Had to ship back the old one, arranged also by them. Flawless transaction and new monitor. Updated warranty to December 2027. Lost productivity ✔️ - had to find / talk / arrange pickup and delivery of big package ✔️ hope all now is better ✔️

This was June 2025. New monitor (DCC info shows manufacture 2nd week of 2025) lived happily until *5 weeks ago* (just as I was to leave for holidays, where parts (rectangular parts) of the screen started blanking in and out. Some moments later, this stopped, but somehow I knew it was the beginning of the end.

Coming back from holidays today (monitor was disconnected from mains just to be sure) and I'm greeted by a black screen. Indicator light works, and when disconnected from any source, goes to power save. No DELL logo on startup, but when connected, the monitor is properly detected by my mbp - but blank screen nevertheless. Troubleshooting with claude, used flash light (wot? surprised) and voila!! image is rendered on screen, no light coming through, dead backlit ✔️

Started the drill with DELL support once more. Ticket / service request created, rudimentary troubleshooting by person on the other side (hard reset mostly, disconnect from mains etc) but nothing came to it. Waiting now for the service request to get through. YIKES. No monitor, now can work from anywhere, feeling nomad once more ✔️

So this is the story so far. Anyone with similar stories?

Discussion Monitor Advice - What to Buy

Upvotes

Hello all- Needing a monitor primarily for work which is word processing, MS office work etc (life of a consultant whoo~). So not needing any crazy specs but would like to use it for watching shows, and maybe light cozy gaming (+Mario Kart) if it can handle it.

Rough Wishlist / Things l’ve Learnt to Look for: - 27” at >1080px - Can Tilt and Adjust Vertically (not a deal-breaker as l assume any monitor l get l can get a stand/arm for) - 100Hz or more -Wanting a Silver/White exterior to fit my office furniture (avoiding MSI and AOC due to mixed reviews)

Would love some thoughts on: - Dell S2725HS - Lenovo L2i-4A - HP S5 527sh

Thanks all!

News HDR ? Or SDR ? (Games)

Upvotes

(I don’t know who to ask or where to post such question, what HDR subreddit is correct one…) Hi, recently I discover HDR. When I bought switch 2. I use tv picture mode in HDR GAME (xiaomi a pro 43 2025) for a few weeks I used the Nintendo OLED hdmi on my PC and enabled HDR in my windows 11. After finding out that Nintendo OLED hdmi dont support HDR I used my switch 2 cable. Did use windows 11 hdr calibration tool. And in BOTH cases, both cables the settings were the exact same. Minimum luminance was disappearing at 0.0000 , maximum luminance was disappearing at 2700 +- and Max full frame luminance test was disappearing at 2700 also. But this is not correct ?! My tv is not that good , Google AI say my tv can handle max 400 nits at best. So are both cables bad or it’s I do something wrong ? (All color settings were set to default on tv and pc) how can i understand if HDR was set ? Never seen one before…

Discussion Looking for a clarification on Mini LED monitors and local dimming

Upvotes

I'm looking to buy a MiniLed monitor and the Xiaomi G Pro 27i looks interesting. From what I found there are some issues with revisions that have an older Firmware version, however, the consumer protection laws in my country are good and I can return it without any hassle if I get a borked one.

There's one thing that has me confused though. In the RTings review for this monitor (https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/xiaomi/g-pro-27i) the following is mentioned as a negative: "Low contrast without local dimming"

I don't understand why would this matter. Wouldn't you want to keep the local dimming feature turned on at all times? Is there any disadvantage to doing this?

I've never had a MiniLed minitor so I'm not sure if this question is stupid or not.

Thank you!

Discussion External Monitor for MBA m4

Guy,

Looking for a external monitor to use with my new Macbook Air M4.

Don’t want to go all the way and buy full price Apple Studio Display.

Was thinking for like something in the 500-700€ range.. 27” 4K

Two options I’m currently looking at are:

1: LG UltraGear 27G850A-B (550€) 2: Dell UltraSharp U2725QE (620€)

Both IPS Black panels same DPI, brightness and clarity.

The Dell is more compatible with its connections and has better contrastratio.

What are your thoughts and are there better options out there that meet the my pricerange?
